Have you ever wondered who is to blame for so many deaths in Romeo and Juliet? Well some people who have died has been from either family: The Capulets, or The Montagues. So it doesn’t matter what their name was, but it mattered who they were. Some of the people who have died in this story were Romeo, Juliet, Paris, and Benvolio. They were from all different families and were not full of hate.

Friar put forth the plan to fake Juliet’s death, which made Romeo kill himself and Juliet kill herself. When the plan was in action Friar was thinking of a way that Romeo and Juliet can see each other. So, Friar came up with Juliet drinking a potion that could bring many dangers. The poison makes anyone who drinks it seems as if they are dead.
They try to create a plan to trick their families but it unfortunately fails. This leads to both Romeo and Juliet ending their lives when they thought the other had died. This essay will be answering the question of who was to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Some people say that Friar Lawrence was to blame because he was the one who came up with the plan and who failed to tell Romeo about the plan. I would have to disagree with this because Friar Lawrence was only trying to help Romeo and Juliet from the very beginning.
As Friar and Juliet are talking about a plan to be with Romeo he says, “I do spy a kind of hope, / Which craves as desperate an execution” (Shakespeare 4.1.68-69). Friar does have a plan for Juliet but only someone extremely desperate would do it. If he knows that it would take a desperate person to do it, he knows it is not a very good, well thought-out plan. Juliet is desperate and is willing to take risks to be with the love of her life. Before going through with the plan and taking the poison, Juliet says to herself, “What if this mixture do not work at all” (Shakespeare 4.3.21).
Romeo and Juliet is known to be a tragedy. The Prince says that everyone is to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet. I think that Friar Lawrence, out of everyone, is the most to blame for the deaths. Although the Friar had the most part of it, Romeo’s death was bound to happen, but Juliet’s could’ve been prevented. He knew marrying the two was a bad idea, he explains why when he says, “Young men’s love then lies - Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes,” (Shakespeare 733) and when he says, “Women may fall when there’s no strength in men.”

The Death of Romeo and Juliet It is Friar Lawrence's fault because he gave Juliet the potion and married Romeo and Juliet. Also, he should just told Romeo that Juliet was going to take a potion that was going to make Juliet look dead so she could miss her wedding to Paris. It is Romeo’s fault because he fell in love with Juliet who is a Capulet and already is soon to be married to Paris. Romeo killed himself because he thought Juliet was dead causing Juliet to kill herself. It is Juliet’s fault because she loved Romeo back who is a Montague and left her “fiance” Paris.
The person who caused all of the problems in Romeo and Juliet is Friar Lawrence. In the story The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare The Friar makes some pretty pour choices which ultimately led to most of the deaths in the story. The reasons why I think the Friar cause most of this is because one, The guy faked Juliet's death without informing Romeo beforehand he sent it after Juliet had drank the potion and the wedding date changed. Secondly, he married Romeo and Juliet in secrecy, but neither family gave him consent to do so.
In the morning, the nurse discovers her and pronounces her dead. Of all the things the Friar has done so far, giving Juliet the poison is the worst of his actions. As the Friar’s plan goes, Romeo did not receive the letter from the servant describing the situation of how Juliet is not dead, only sleeping. Romeo then kills himself when he sees his ‘dead’ wife, and when Juliet rises only to see her dead husband, she ends her life with a
