When black, white and Hispanic people stand together for justice, we win” (Bernie Sanders Quotes). For too long, Americans have been dealing with discrimination, inequality, and racism. Disputes over gay marriage, transgenders, immigrants, and race have preoccupied what is truly important to this country, freedom. Finally, we have a candidate who understands this, Bernie Sanders. This is our chance to start a political revolution by voting for Sanders, who wants freedom and equality for all American citizens.

He attended the University of Chicago for three years, and graduated with a political science degree. During his time in college, Sanders was an active member of the Congress of Racial Equality as well as being involved in the historic March on Washington in 1963. He told the Burlington Free Press, “That was clearly a major American injustice and something that had to be dealt with” (5 Things You Should Know About Bernie Sanders). Even then, as a twenty-two year old college student, Sanders was already finding ways to make equality happen. After graduating, Sanders told Guardian newspaper, “I saw unfairness. That was the major inspiration in my politics” (Bernie Sanders Biography). His inspiration and determination later made him America’s longest-serving independent politician in Congress. His political career started when he was elected mayor of Vermont’s biggest city, Burlington, in 1981.
