It is good to change, or be the one is is changing for the better. It just takes accepting it and applying it to your life. In this novel, there is a cold hearted man named scrooge that hates anything to do with happiness in his life. He runs a shop but his partner dies, but comes back to tell him to change his ways, and to do so three spirits of past, present,and future would go to his house and show him that change is good, and will help improve his life style. In the book “A christmas Carol”, Charles Dickens shows that change is possible for anyone through Scrooge’s transformation due to his interactions with the Spirits.
Scrooge’s changes The story A Christmas Carol was written by Charles Dickens. In the book A Christmas Carol Scrooge was mean at the beginning but as the book kept going he was visited by 3 ghost and by the end Scrooge is no longer mean to people. In stave 1 Scrooge rejected the poorly men for donations and after he did that he felt good about it.
In the book “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, Ebenezer Scrooge was a miserable, selfish, lonely person. He had no friends and was cold hearted man and only cared about work and money. For example, Scrooge was a squeezing wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching old sinner(2-3). Ebenezer Scrooge seemed like he would be a bad human bad forever, but somehow with the help with the three ghosts the ghost of the past, present, and future, Scrooge was able to see how terrible he was and how he can change his ways in life to become a better person.
In the beginning of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge had a terrible fate if he didn’t decide to change his ways. In A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens wants us to understand that mankind’s business is caring and helping others because it is the nice thing to do as shown through Scrooge’s changing view of family and caring. Scrooge doesn’t believe this in the beginning of the book, he believes that making money is the true meaning of business. In Stave One, Scrooge thinks business is money and it makes him mean and greedy.
At the very start of stave 1, Dickens sets the atmosphere by mentioning Marley’s death. This introduces a gloomy mood. This allows dickens to describe Scrooges personality, he does this by using Words such as, greedy, grasping and as a covetous sinner “. Dickens use the word “covetous” instead of “greedy” due to the fact
“I will honour christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year. ”-scrooge. In the play a Christmas Carol the main character Ebenezer Scrooge has had some life changing events when he learned to loved christmas again. He changed from a grouchie, mean and unsociable old man to a nice loving kind geyser. Let me share with you how Scrooge has changed from these three things.
In the novella, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, the main Character Ebenezer Scrooge who is a “covetous old sinner” (Dickens 3) and a solitary man who “wished to be left alone” (Dickens 12), was an abysmal person. Scrooge later learns to be a joyful person on Christmas after the wonderful little visits he gets by these three spirits.
Scrooge changes from the beginning to the end of the novel. At the beginning of the story Scrooge is greedy, cold, and bitter. In the first stave it says “Hard and sharp as flint, from which no steel had ever struck out generous fire”(2). This illustrates that Scrooge is greedy and doesn’t like to share any of his possessions, including his money.
A Christmas Carol is a play in which the protagonist, Ebenezer Scrooge, absolutely hates Christmas and cares about nobody. But as this play progresses, Scrooge slowly realizes that he needs to change his ways. He realizes this when his employee, Marley, tells him that three spirits will visit him and try to make him change his ways. After all the spirits visit Scrooge, he realizes that he desperately needs to change, and that’s exactly what he does. He helps others and is nice to them.
People that live in the past enjoy their life less than people that live in the present. Well, the story "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens is about An old man by the name of Scrooge, and three spirits. Those three spirits are ghosts of past, present, and future. Scrooge is a misanthrope and he becomes benevolent later on because three spirits visit him on the night before Christmas and show him Scrooges past, present, and future. Each spirit showed Scrooge how greedy and biased he was.

Ebenezer Scrooge is the greedy man in the novel who values his money more than anyone or anything. His greed has caused many people to dislike him, even his employees find him cruel and cheap. He begins to change, however, when he is visited by his dead partner Jacob Marley. Marley warns Scrooge that three other Spirits will be visiting him throughout the night, and will help convince him to change his ways.

Scrooge helped not only is friends but the community as well, by having a better attitude towards life, donating his gains, and using kind words. To begin, Scrooge realized we all have a duty to protect and care for eachother. Scrooge used to be a terrible cold-hearted man, but that all changed when he saw the choices of his actions. When Scrooge realized this he became helpful and nice.
A Christmas Carol Characterization In A Christmas Carol Charles Dickens describes his main character Ebenezer Scrooge in a direct characterization manner . Dickens begins to describe him directly to the audience as; “..secret, and self-contained, and solitary as an oyster.” and also describes him as: “...a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner!” and lastly describes him as “... a tight-fisted hand at the grindstone, Scrooge!” in page 8. Here Dickens introduces a greedy, self contained and penny-pinching character.
