In life, there are many people who influence others. Some are good influences and some are bad influences. The one person who influenced Christopher's life the most would have to be his father, Ed Boone a character from the novel the curious incident of the dog in the night-time written by Mark Haddon. In the book Ed Boone makes lots of mistakes that are completely understandable given his situation. He is still a fine father whose has unconditional love and commitment for Christopher which allows him to grow in spite of the numerous challenges he faces.
August Wilson’s Fences is a play about the lives of an African-American family and the hardships that they face to keep a stable family. Many people in the short play such as Troy Maxson, and his wife are courageous people who play a big part in the story line. But one character who shows a great amount of courage is Cory Maxson, Troys son. Most of his courage is expressed because of the tension between his father and himself. They often disagree, argue, fight, and there are often punishments dealt to Cory that he has to deal with.
Some images he used where “the heart that feels not now, is dead: the blood of his children will curse his cowardice, who shrinks back at a time when a little might have saved the whole, and make them happy” it gives you a distinction of death and your thoughts of feeling dejection. Another one would be “Flame of liberty” which means people desire for liberty. All they want is there freedom to do what they want. They want liberty in this world. Paines imagery shows what he was doing to make his points.
But the family was soon dealt another sad blow. After working tirelessly to make ends meet, his mother became ill and died in 1768 at the age of 38.” In other words, Hamilton had to work tirelessly from an early age, with no mother or father to provide for him. With this, Hamilton inspires and amazes many by going from poverty, to prosperity. Similarly, this inspiration is evidence of Hamilton’s great leadership because this ability to live such a rewarding life is the ideal and the goal of many Americans today. Indeed, Hamilton proves his influence and leadership again, through his immigration to America.
Characters and humans in everyday life tend to find love in people they would least expect it to come from. The roughest and most callous people can sometimes have the biggest heart and provide the most important care. In Portis’s novel, True Grit, one of the main protagonist, Rooster Cogburn, has had a very violent past that has created an identity for himself that seems almost impossible to reshape. Even though Rooster is portrayed as an unsympathetic character, he acts as a father figure to Mattie while she is vulnerable after her father's death. Being a deputy marshall for the Western District of Arkansas, Rooster Cogburn has one of the toughest jobs out there.
Troy Maxson Troy Maxson was the lead character in the play “Fences” by August Wilson and is a very outspoken and humorous character of sorts. Troy has a very big personality, and believes that he owes his family everything, from his paycheck to his soul. Troy is the protagonist, but you can't quite say he's the hero unless you put tragic in front of it. Troy is no known hero, however, he was known to have several flaws and several good qualities. Troy was let down in a lot of ways in life and it is because of how he was treated that he acts the way that he does.
Chances are, when one is in a fight or flight situation one will usually choose flight, to escape the situation and ignore it. In Fall of a City by Alden Nowlan, the protagonist Teddy escapes his unhappy family life. His refuge takes the form of an imaginary world that he constructed as a place where he feels safe. Ultimately, this illusion is shattered when his uncle discovers his creation and ridicules him for it. Through the portrayal of setting and characters, Nowlan presents imagination as a necessary method of escape to maintain one’s mental stability.
In the book The Outsiders written by S.E Hinton has been and still is a favorite among its readers, the book focuses on group identity and individuality. I connected with the book because it shows how close friends can be, they can be almost family. Over time the character Johnny has developed, he became more brave and was willing to kill someone to save his friends and himself, he is intuitive, selfless and optimistic. Johnny thinks that there is still good in the world no matter what happens. Johnny often feels afraid, he doesn’t want to go home because of what his parents do to him.
Anse is introduce to the book at the very beginning was that he was a working man and loves his family. Anse is very important in the develop of the story because he play the role of addie husband. Being the husband of addie explains many thing on why addie want to be buried in jefferson not close to her husband anse. As I get deeper into the book there are many actions that tell me that anse is a lazy guy but at the beginning is his neighbors who say that he is lazy men who don't like to do anything. The when he is getting addie to jefferson the wagon almost get destroy in the river and cash and jewel are the one who rescue it not anse he just stand there looking at then almost dying.
There are countless stories that have sappy endings where the hero saves the day and everything goes well, but in James Hurst’s short story ‘The Scarlet Ibis’ the main character makes mistakes that costs his little brother his life. Doodle, the little brother, has many different facets of his personality similar to a real person. It is because of these many facets that we, the readers, could connect to him.The most notable personalities that Doodle has is his selflessness, dependence on others, and his creative imagination. Doodle is very selfless and he is willing to walk to the edge of the earth just to see his family happy. He could not walk at all because of his birth defects, but his brother slowly but surely taught him how to first stand up, and then walk.
When you turn on the nightly news and all you see is the bad in the world, the hurt, and the corruption that has engulfed us as a society, it is nice to see someone do something not because they will get paid or become famous, but because they know its simple the right thing to do. This story fits the concept of a hero most similar to Bernardo’s explaination of a hero. Riggs’ saved his family and risked his life not because thats what people would expect but because he had the responsiblity to take care of them. Just like Bernardo states, he did this “because he loves them and wants to”. Riggs displayed the kind of courage it takes to be a hero.
