The causitive agent of the Plague is Yersinia Pestis. It is a gram negative, zoonotic and epizootic. It is a rod shaped bacteria that is a meiotrophic organism. Some scientist have developed CryptFind which is a method of theorectically testing the genomes. There are limitied rescourses for doing research since this bacteria poses such a threat to society. Picture a man in a bird suit. He is wearing a hat, mask that looks like a bird beak, goggles, and a long gown. Sounds like a halloween costume right? Well some of the best doctors of their time throughout history have worn outfits like this for protection from the plague. They had the specific title of "plague doctor." They dealt strictly with individuals that were deamed to have plague or even produced symtoms of the disease. They would also carry around pointers or rods to keep patients at a safe distance. The Justinian Plague was the first recorded pandemic. It began in 541 AD. The pandemic was named after a 6th century Byzantine emperor Justinian I. It affected the Mediterranean basin, and killed over twenty five million people over the next few hundred years. The Great Plague, also known as the "Black Death," orginiated in china in 1334. It spread rampant among the trade routes to Constaninople and Europe. It claimed the lives of close to sixty percent of the European population. The massive labor shortages are is what to be said what helped boost the emergence of the Renaissance in the 14th century. The Modern Plague also began in China in 1860 in Hong Kong. In just twenty years it had spread to port cities by rats on steamships. Entire town populations were desicrated. Ten million deaths roughly. A recent outbreak occured in the 20th century in the 1960's and 70's during the Vietnam war. As of 2008, a case of a 16 year old boy was confirmed to have the plague and was in the Sarharan
