The five song playlist that I chose is Fireworks, Set fire to the rain, The way, Love the way you lie and Firestones. All of these songs relates to the novel in different ways.
The music video conveys a very deep meaning that is culturally relevant and is something many people struggle with everyday. Hozier utilizes imagery, symbolism and rhetorical strategies as an attempt to expose the
However Ludacris only uses a few poetic devices, they enhance the tone of the song. People who listen carefully or read the lyrics to this song realizes that he is displaying a very serious story of three young girls facing hardship and their struggle to survive. These girls are fed up with the life they are forced to live and feel as if the only solution is to runaway. The ton of “Runaway Love”, is melancholy and dark, an opens eye’s to a problem that most people try to ignore. These girls should be enjoying their childhood but instead they are taking on the roles of an adult.
Hip-hop is an influential form of music that displays an artist’s honest and revealing story that many of the general public can relate to. One of the many songs that I can relate to is “Love Yourz” written by J Cole. The song talks about how Cole reflects on the most important things in life such as love and happiness. He realizes that the money and fame didn’t bring him the happiness he desired. To gain true happiness, he needed to appreciate himself and those that love him. Finally, Cole talks about how he’s going to make something out of himself even though he grew up living a struggling lifestyle. “Love Yourz” is one of the songs I can relate to because the lyrics show that no matter how messed up your life is, you should learn to love the life you have. “Love Yourz” made me realize that there will always be someone there to support my decisions and accept the person I am, and who I am to become Even though I cannot relate to having the status of a successful rapper, it is important to reflect on the ideas that J Cole emphasizes on.
One of the most talented and the most popular singers of the modern time is considered to be Adele. For me, she is not only a popular singer but an icon and the great performer of moving and even heartbreaking songs. After I have accidentally heard her song on the radio for the first time, there was no one better for me in terms of singing. In her songs, I felt everything, including pain and joy, drive and hope. However, the most important characteristic of her songs is the soul that is felt in every particular case. The three of my favorite songs are “Rolling in the deep”, “Hello”, and “Skyfall”. Adele’s impressive voice, her skill of using it, and her determination to sing with all heart have definitely brought her numerous fans.
Heartbreak Hotel is a song that was recorded by Elvis Presley and was written by a high school teacher named Mae Axton and a steel guitar player named Tommy Durden. It was recorded and released in January 1956 by RCA Studios. Elvis was only 21 and Heartbreak Hotel was his first song with the new record label RCA in Nashville, Tennessee. He recorded the song with his band the Blue moon boys. It was his first million-seller and the bestselling single of 1956. It was top 5 on all pop charts simultaneously and later went to become a double platinum hit by the RIAA.
The song describes most of what is going on in the story. For example, “We found him with his face down in the pillow With a note that said I’ll love her till I die.” These two lines in the stanza are very descriptive. Using detailed lines makes a better understanding for the audience. It makes the song become more realistic.
This song has made me fight for what I believe in no matter if I lose some people on my journey. I can connect with this song emotionally not only because of its strong message but what it stands for. In the song Rachel talks about how if no one else believes, she still has a fight left in her. This message makes me feel like I will always have a fight in me no matter how hard life will get. This song is a perfect song for me, because sometimes I forget that my voice matter and it makes me realize that it does
Here, John Cooper is explaining how the song was influenced by the couple’s story of abortion. However, this can be perceived as a pro-life argument in the disguise of a song. With Cooper giving his say of how this song hopes to impact his audience, we will continue to go in deeper
One of my favorite lyrics of the song was. “The sound of her laughter will sing in your dreams. Some enchanted evening When you find your true love, When you feel her call you Across a crowded room, Then fly to her side, And make her your own For all through your life you May dream all alone.” The song in general is a beautiful song that talks about love.
This recording is a classic and inspiring example of the sweetness of pop, the passionate vigor of soul, and the groovy feel of R&B. There are many compositional techniques used to convey message in this song. First there is the bass guitar, which provides the melody throughout the song. It begins with a low pitch, and gradually increases until a climactic rise in the mood of the song during the chorus. This could be a representation of being at the lowest point in life, only to rise from the ashes.
Some even believe it is about the Kent State Shootings although the song was released years before that event occurred. Even though there is not strong evidence to back up this song's true meaning, it
The song that I chose was “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield. It was released in 2004, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. It also hit number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Natasha Bedingfield has another popular song “Pocketful of Sunshine” and was really only popular in 2004-2006. You can find her songs on multiple 00’s playlists.
All music has multiple functions. While music can preserve artistic value, it can also simultaneously tell a story, bring people together, historicize, heal, and rejuvenate. Most importantly, however, it sends a strong message and stimulates strong emotions to the listener. The song, “Where is the Love” by The Black Eyed Peas, performs all of these functions. The song symbolizes the sociological conflict theory.
There have been many rap songs and albums that have been very meaningful, and have gained millions of fans that appreciate their music. For example, on Kendrick Lamar’s debut album Good Kid, m.A.A.d City, each song is a piece of his life story. He describes his struggles growing up in the ghettos of Compton, California. Kendrick addresses situations such as gang violence, peer pressure, and oppressed women. On the song “The Art of Peer Pressure”, Kendrick describes the inner conflict that he dealt with at a young age, trying to distinguish right from wrong in certain situations.
