That night was the first time I slept at a hospital; my mom and I were by my sister’s side as she was flat on a hospital bed, plugged
New Plans One Saturday morning, I woke up at seven in the morning to go to an amusement park called Six Flags. The plans had been made days ago, my two older sisters, my brother, a friend of ours and I would be going to Six Flags and spend the entire day there. As I got up after finally getting my alarm to finally shut up I walked over to the bathroom to take a shower when I realized that the ground was spinning, in my eyes at least, I had a vile taste in the back of my throat. I quickly fell back onto my bed feeling like if I hadn’t
“Only 5 more days until Halloween”, screamed Abigail. I can not wait until it is Halloween because I feel like it is going to be one of the best ones yet. My brother, Adam and I had made plans to carve a pumpkin because I have wanted to do one for a long time. CHAPTER TEN Bonus Points for the Most Painful Crumple Shadow Mountain was shaped kind of like a cone that spiraled upward to form a sharp snow capped peak. There were lush green meadows on either side and a river of fire spanned by a rope bridge. It rolled to the edge of a gaping pit, and dropped off in a glowing red cascade, splashing hot sparks into the air. Colorful Firebirds fluttered in enormous twisted oaks while hundreds of stinky skunk apes foraged for plum-colored worms in a grassy field rippling with pink and white wildflowers. They were tall—at least ten feet—but crooked, with bowed legs, gorilla arms that shot off in angles, and curly matted orange fur, glinting gold in the midday light.
Everyone Grows Up Sometime: Coming of Age in To Kill a Mockingbird Prior to the spring break of my seventh grade year, I didn’t know how harsh the world could really be. I mean I knew about sickness, violence, death, all that good stuff, but I just sort of blew it off because nothing in my life had happened to where I needed to face those things. When I was 12 during spring break, I was as happy as any child would be on their spring vacation, but one day my parents pulled me and my brother aside and told us some pretty devastating news. They had told us that our grandfather had passed away in a house fire a few days ago.
I was told my mother was on her way and would meet me there. The two words, "Emergency Room" made me think football might be over, When we finally arrived at the hospital; the paramedics took me to an empty bed where my Mom was already waiting. I have never like hospitals, everyone always sounds like they are going to die and the constant long drawn out beeps from the heart monitors always going off. The smell in the hospital didn’t help either. The nurse came in with a needle that in my memory looked long enough to go through my arm. "
Life events can change people for the good or the bad. I’m going to tell you the three most impactful events in my life. Most transformative moments in life can be caused by the smallest of occurrences in life. Often people do not even realize that a pivotal moment in their life is happening. Someone may realize when they are mature enough that there was one special moment during their childhood that ultimately determined their lifelong goal. For others, they probably realized an “aha” moment right when it happened and from then on decided that they knew what they want to accomplish later on. I actually have taken from both sides of the spectrum from realizing that one special transformative moment but also not even knowing that it would end up steering me towards my current career choice.
In one person’s life, there can be many changes. Some of them are small and do not have a very big effect on your life. However, other events are very important and can completely change a person’s life, such as moving to a new country, joining the military, getting married, or buying a house. Two of the events that have changed my life the most was moving to the United States and the joining the military. When I first arrived in the United States, I was only twelve years old.
