Is love at first sight to die for? In Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, there is a fued between the Capulets and Montagues that has been going on for years prior. The two young lovers who fall in love at first sight and marry the next day, Romeo and Juliet, just so happen to be a Montague and Capulet. They go through troubles to ensure they will be together, but things don’t go as planned for them and ends with them tragically killing theirselves. The two young lovers themselves, along with Lord Capulet are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. First, Romeo and Juliet are responsible for their own deaths. For example, everytime there were hardships that they thought they wouldn’t be able to overcome, the first solution in their minds was to kill theirself for each other. This means that they are ignorant and don’t even stop to think about what else could be done to fix their problem. As a result, they are quick to assume and act even though things can be prevented. Furthermore, Romeo immediately bought poison instead of heading to Friar Laurence to get an explanation on what was going on. …show more content…

For example, Lord Capulet rushed to get Juliet and Paris married after Juliet gave into the idea. This means that Lord Capulet wanted to make sure there was no way for Juliet to back out of the marriage. As a result, this didn’t give Friar Laurence enough time to send the message to Romeo to warn him about Juliet’s fake death. Furthermore, Lord Capulet only cared about Juliet and his family’s social status in Verona by marrying her off to Paris. This shows that Lord Capulet was selfish and just wanted the Capulets to be more popular and have more power in Verona. Due to this, he didn’t care anymore whether or not Juliet was too young or if she truly loved and wanted to be with Paris.
