There are countless individuals all around the United States who have grown up hearing about the courageous acts of Martin Luther King Jr. and his fight for civil rights for the colored. It took one determined man to gain followers and help achieve his goal that changed America for the better. King took a stand and used a non violent and peaceful manner to ensure peace in our country. This valiant man impacted our nation by allowing everyone to have a clear view to welcome everyone into society.

Perhaps one may realize that this is a certain topic that they feel strongly about and strive to make a difference. For example, there are those uninformed in this world who unjustly depict all Muslims as being terrorists, just because those in ISIS are that religion, too. This stereotype is discriminatory and prejudicial because a religion doesn 't make a human being do terrible things. A religion does not turn a person evil, it is the person who chooses to commit those acts. Martin Luther King was arrested for prostesting and was placed in Birmingham jail from which he wrote a famous letter explaining his rationale for his actions.
As a peacemaker and an outspoken leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has done a lot to end segregation in the United States of America. His own imagination filled with millions of hopes that one day everyone can learn to accept one another put him in very difficult situations in which he was not afraid. In 1963, Dr. King wrote a letter from the Birmingham Jail to a clergymen that freedom has to be given to everyone no matter what race they were. Dr. King fought for the rights of African Americans because they were separated from doing all the things that the Whites were able to do. He decided to take a step and fight for everyone.

Also, Martin Luther King got shot on April 4, 1968, in a hotel at 6:05 when he was standing outside on the balcony of his hotel room. James Earl Ray was the guy that shot him, and he did it because he thought that the colored should not have any rights and he did not like that he was making change in the US. In this day and age, it is beyond inconceivable that discrimination in any shape or size still exists in our world, let alone our nation. Undoubtedly, this is an issue that we must address, and the first step in solving it is to adhere to Mr. Mineta’s statement.

Before Martin Luther King Jr., racism and racial segregation were very much accepted in society and were a common thing throughout the 1950s and 60s. While Martin Luther was preaching and protesting through the 50s and 60s, people all across America started to become more aware of how poorly African Americans were treated in almost every aspect of their lives. Everything that African Americans would do, they would be judged and discriminated.

Lincoln Memorial Address, The Nobel Peace Prize 1964 Acceptance Speech, I Have a Dream, and Give Us the Ballot these are just a few of the speeches used to achieve the freedom he and all of the oppressed desired. The legacy left by him will forever be remembered and celebrated but how did his speeches reach and change so many people's hearts. Mr. King's speeches left such a big impact because they brought out the true feelings and thoughts of not just african americans but all races even the white man.

MLK also was a minister and Noble Prize winner; he was also a leader in The National Association of Colored People (NAACP). Many African Americans opened up to what he had to say and followed his strategies of a nonviolent act in the Civil Rights Movement. MLK was one of the most important black leaders in his era where not only did he touch the hearts of many blacks but also grew to have many enemies with whites and other leaders who didn't agree in his nonviolent strategies and beliefs.
A Man Who Made America More Honorable There are many individuals who have shaped and impacted the history of America. Many decades of hardships have been endured to make America the way it is today. An individual who is recognized and still remembered today for helping shape America into a more honorable country is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. helped us realize that segregation and poverty are wrong. He also helped us realize that we should treat people the same. No matter race, color, or gender. He has impacted our everyday lives with the Civil Rights Act and his “I Have a Dream…” speech. He is an important man with an important history.
“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character”. Dr King had a vision of a society in which race was not an issue in how people were treated or in how they were allowed to to live their lives. The efforts of King and those who liked him have, in fact , changed the country and the world for the better in noticeable ways . His vision has made the world a more equal place , if not an equal one, and it helped to ensure that minorities have a voice.
