The early Islamic empire expanded using three methods. These methods included military conquest, political means, and financial incentives. First, the Islamic empire expanded through military force. According to the document A: battle of Yarmuck, the battle was fierce and bloody. 24,000 Muslims took part and 70,000 Greeks were put to death.
Between the late 600’s to 700’s, Islamic civilization spread to encompass such an extensive empire by using economic and political practices. They used tactics such as required taxes and tributes for non-Muslims in Arabia by using peaceful coercion, by raiding neighborhood areas for resources, and by deploying a violent self-defense approach against those who opposed against them. The Muslims utilized a false sense of acceptance towards non-Muslims and took advantage of neighboring areas to further themselves economically. The Muslims gave off an appearance of a false-acceptance towards non-Muslims, such as Jews or Christians, in the Arabian Peninsula.

The early Islamic empire has expanded throughout the years and over time. Throughout the Documents I found out that the Islamic empire expanded by coming together and reunited. In Document A I found that the Muslims gathered gather together, the Greeks and their followers tied themselves together therefore none of them could run away. In Document C it says that they were granting of gifts which remained the practice of Muhammad which eventually institutionalized. I think that meant that Muhammad remained going toward established as part of the government.
In the earlier times the Israelites lived in Egypt and were explained to be a fruitful and multiplied people. Under the law of Egypt’s king, the Israelites had permission to live in Egypt and work the land. However, the King felt as if the Isralites were a threat to his reign because there were so many of them, so he dicided to deal with them “shrewdly” (Exod. 1:10). Therefore Pharaoh assigned them degrading work in harmful envirnments and began to control their population growth. The Egyptian masters worked the Israelites ruthlessly (exod. 1:13,14) and made them slaves.
The leader that everyone referred to as Mohammad had various things to offer his followers.(1) ~insert an opinion on this topic~ According to documents 1 and 2 he offered things to his followers and the leaders of Christian Arab tribes.(2) Document 1 states that , “Believe or else pay tribute [money]… obey the Lord and His Apostle [Mohammad], and he will defend you. ”(3) This shows that you are only offered something if you believe what he believes or believe in him.(4) In document 2 it is to be said that if you are a Muslim and you follow him you will be brought into the garden of paradise unfortunately if you do not you will be punished.(5)
Cities in the Muslim World were often political centers, economic center and areas of religious importance during the post classical period. The Muslim World was a place of political centers due to being the foundation of the religion of Islam. Once Islam was created they wanted to spread its religion and it spread to other places and these other countries became Muslim cities. The Muslim world also had economical centers because when Islam spread, they set up trade routes that boosted the economy. As the cities developed they became of religious importance as they built religious structures, all in the Muslim world.

The first section I will be talking to you about is the act of prohibiting the wearing of burqas in the United States. The second point I will be discussing about is my point of view on the act of prohibiting Syrian and/or Saudi Arabian refugees from entering the United states without presidential approval. The final section I will be discussing to you about is about Immigrants At a camp at Kohat, Pakistan there were two suicide bombers, disguised with burqas, that struck the camp. The attack killed 41 people and injured about 62 people. In another case there were seven Afghan Taliban terrorists who were wearing burqas.
In 1939, Reza Shah’s unveiling declaration sparked a worldwide debate as to what the veil actually symbolizes. Ever since the beginning of Islam, women throughout the Islamic world have had to adopt the hijab as part of their cultural and religious attire due to various interpretations of the Islamic dress code. In addition, the Koran emphasizes purity in the name of Islam by asking both men and women to be modest when it comes to the way they dress. Furthermore, in his efforts to modernize Iran, Reza Shah failed to satisfy the needs of his people, as he gave women no say in what they could and could not wear in public. This eventually resulted in the division of Iranian women, as there were those who favored the Islamic tradition, and those who supported the regime and its adoption of Western values.
The issue of the veil has come to represent the essence of Islam, not only to the West, but also to Muslim Conservatives and Fundamentalists. To some in the West, the veil represents repression and constriction of women’s freedom and choice, limiting their capacity for self-determination. However, some Muslims would argue that women must veil because it is a first step towards restoring true Islam and a defiance against the West Interventionist policies (Lazreg, Why Women Should Not Wear the Veil, pg. 113). Additionally, the idea of freedom as the ultimate value, is a western standard and that for some, piety is more important. Lila Abu-Lughod and Marnia Lazreg have contrasting views on the veiling of Muslim women and the affects it has on their lives.
Their needs and desires are ignored and are considered less important than men. When the Talibans came, men’s needs are prioritized while women are left behind. According to Hosseini (2007), “ Women are forbidden from working”(p.298). This shows that men are given the privilege to go to work and earn money to support their families and themselves while girls are debarred from getting a job whether they like it or not as the Talibans think that women are of the weaker sex and are not capable of doing anything that helps contribute to the society. One evidence, according to Hosseini (2007), “ “Go to Rabia Balkhi,” the guard said.
This shows the freedom that people are allowed to have rather than the restricted rules that are implemented in Iran to oppress women. Marjane thought the act would be liberating, however, it wasn’t as simple as that because her inner thoughts still continued to conflict with
Theodore Gabriel (2011, p. 25) outlined “the covering of the head, Hijab, and the covering of face, Niqab, are seen by many as demonstrations of oppression.” This shows that the act of veiling promoted through religious beliefs interfere in the possession of one’s body and her rights to make decisions for her own self. By taking the rights of someone, it is perceived for him/her to be of an unequal status as compared to their peers.
