Authorities say the 64-year-old gunman, Stephen Paddock, shot at the victims from the 32nd floor perch. Authorities said that Paddock checked into the Madala Bay Resort and Casino on Thursday, a day before the event at a crowd attending a music festival below.. Paddock brought with him “in excess of 10 suitcases,” according to police. The cases held at least 23 weapons, many of them rifles ranging in size from .308 to .223 caliber, along with two tripods including a camera he positioned in the peephole of the door. When police entered his hotel room, they discovered Paddock had shot himself. A motive has not yet been determined Marilou Danley, girlfriend of the mass shooter is in the crosshairs of the investigation but claims that she had no idea that Paddock was going to do this. She is not under arrest or doesn’t face any criminal charges as of now. From the Eiffel Tower to the entertainment capital of the world mourners honored the victims by going for a candle light vigil. An end-year celebration at the social services center Inland Regional turned into a deadly shooting after being raided by a couple. Identified as 28-year-old Syad Farook and 29-year-old Tashfeen Malik, the couple left 14 dead and 21 wounded inside a packed conference room rented by the country’s public health department. Both attackers were armed with assault rifles and handguns, all legally purchased, and a remote-controlled car with explosives attached. The couple managed to escape for a few hours after the attack before being killed in a shootout with police, leading officials to discover 1,600 rounds of ammunition on their bodies and in the car. The officers that were identified at the scene were Mike Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze. Ringgenberg and Schwarze were responding to a domestic assault report when they had an altercation with Clark. It was said that Clark was interfering with a victim receiving medical assistance and had a scuffle with the police officers. Clark was shot in the head by one of the officers and later died from the wound on Monday.

Today, 14 people were killed and 17 others were wounded by the mass shooting that occurred in San Bernardino- California. Three gunmen entered the social service center located in San Bernardino and opened fire on people. Witnesses claimed that the shooters were armed with long guns, wearing ski masks and military-style vests. The chief police Jarrod Burguan alarmed the people to be safe because one of the killers is still free and they didn’t find him yet. The Mandalay Bay Shootings in Las Vegas was a horrible massacre killing about 59 innocent lives and injuring around 500 people that were attending the music festival across from the Mandalay Bay. Nikolas Cruz exited a Uber outside of Stoneman Marjory Douglass High School at 2:19 p.m. wearing dark colored jeans, a Stoneman Douglass polo shirt, carrying a duffel bag with an ar-15, and a backpack with a vest and ammo. Cruz walked into the 1200 building, wherein a stairwell a student stumbled upon him loading his weapon who left to tell a teacher. Later, Cruz set off a fire alarm, and started shooting into the hallways. After that, he started shooting into different rooms, passing some and entering others. By the end of the shooting, seventeen people had been killed.

Media coverage hasn’t stopped after the Columbine shootings, though. It seems as though every week there is a story about a school shooting on national news channels. Since 2013, 158 school shootings have taken place in the United States (158 School Shootings In America Since 2013, 2015).
