The interview was conducted with a person who is considered as a source of inspiration for many. Nayef Al Jawini is one of the leaders in using social media’s platform in Saudi Arabia. In addition, he is a successful businessman as well as a sportsman. Al Jawini studied and graduated from a university in Riyadh. Although, an educated man with a Bachelor’s degree in law, he was an accomplished billiard player. In 2004, he won the billiard championship of Riyadh and shortly after won the Kingdom and Gulf Championship in billiard. Al Jawini changed his rout by moving to social media to discuss social issues and leadership traits creatively. Fortunately, many followers were attracted to his presentation skills and delivery of the information. For this reason, he wrote his book “Unknown Greats” to express his admiration for the leaders’ qualities and achievements. He understands as a leader the importance of finding a middle ground between conflicting ideas. It is difficult two find sharing points between different ideas for some people, but Al Jawini considers that as the art to convey people. For example, when he discusses different views about cultures, he tries to present the sharing points before the differences. This approach provides stability and strength among opposing sides. Al Jawini has the ability to control his feelings and thoughts when he shares his opinions. He analyzes and neutrally presents information without bias towards anyone. For instance, when he showed the biography of Sulman AlQanoni, the longest-reigning sultan of the Ottoman Empire, he offered the information along with the different personality traits of the sultan effectively and without bias. This past Sunday, June 18th, America lost muslim teen, Nabra Hassanen to what most call road rage, and others, a hate crime. Hassanen, accompanied by a group of friends were headed back to a local mosque after a trip to a fast-food restaurant. It was then that they encountered driver Darwin Martinez Torres and an argument erupted. The altercation escalated, resulting in the capturing and death of 17 year old Hassanen. Torres had beaten her with a baseball bat, abducted her, and dumped her body into a lake.
Baba’s favorite topics are politics, business, and soccer. On the other hand, Amir is weak, insecure, and timid. He likes to read and write stories instead of going outside and playing sports. Amir is not very close to his religion and culture like Baba is; the only piece of culture that Baba and Amir share a passion for is the kite flying tournament. Amir is hesitant and does not stand up for something even if he knows it is the right thing to do.
When he makes an argument, he makes your had turn upside down.. Commentary Baba as the most wealthiest and respected man in all of Kabul. Selim’s son, Suleyman, made tremendous impact on the Ottoman empire, driving it to it’s peak. Suleyman made an efficient and structured government that reduces bureaucracy. He also made law codes to handle criminal and civil actions, limited taxes, and improved citizens lives. By giving slaves education, it gives them the knowledge and ability to work in the future. He also allowed citizens to have freedom of religion.
He is the first person to read and praise Amir’s stories, something that has great impact on Amir. Through simple yet genuine remarks, Rahim is able to “encourage [Amir] to pursue writing [more] than any compliment” has done, indicating the value of his words in Amir’s eyes, and the strong bond that the two share (Hosseini 14). As Amir transitions into adulthood, Rahim’s role in the friendship shifts into someone who must push Amir to do what is best. He understands that the only way to convince Amir to go back to Afghanistan is through painful reminders of the past, demonstrated through telling Amir that “there is a way to be good again”, and by questioning Amir’s courage, accusing Amir of being a “man who can’t stand up to anything” (Hosseini 2, 233). One of the many reasons why the Ottoman culture became a well-organized empire was its social hierarchy system. The Ottoman social class had the commander on top (sultan) and the slaves on the bottom (rayyah) but however, a person’s social level could change anytime, unlike other caste systems in Japan or Britain where people stayed at the same level for the duration of their lives.
