The story of Noah from the Qur’an starts off with Noah warning the people to worship God or else there would be punishment approaching their way. Noah was quoted saying, “O my people! Worship God! You have no other god other than Him. Truly I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous day” (Qur’an, The Heights, 7:59). The people of that time period replied back saying that Noah is wrong and ridiculed him. Noah went to work to build an ark. The Ark was built from a tree that grew for forty years and was cut down by Noah so that he would use the wood to construct his ark. When he was constructing the Ark, the people still mocked him. When he finished building the Ark, pairs of every animal, his family, and the few that believed in God were allowed

Oh, Mr. Noah, your work seemed only to increase. Three hundred seventy days or so, the waters seemed to swell, then go. So God spoke to Noah, it's time to leave at last!
In the article called “Harvey, Irma, Jose … And Noah” David Brooks of the New York Times explains how throughout history people from all different nations have looked for ways to explain the phenomenon of flooding and hurricanes and have written stories about them. It speaks mainly of the story of Noah and how Noah followed God blindly without once trying to save any of his fellow man from His wrath. I find myself agreeing with Brooks and the Rabbis and scholars he references. Noah may have been a righteous man, but he was wrong for not questioning God when told that He was going to wipe out all of humanity except for Noah’s family.
For Utnapishtim he was warned in a dream by Ea. On the other hand Noah was warned directly from the lord as in the lord was speaking directly to him. As they the two soon received their warning and instructions, they soon started to work. They followed the god’s direction and measurement on how to build the specific craft they needed to survive the flood. “Ea because of his oath warned me in a dream”(29).

Folks took to calling him Noah, or sometimes Noah Count—like No Account, you see? I guess they thought they were being funny. I didn’t see the humor. To me it was just downright embarrassing. When we were in town buying nails, I overheard one feller say, “He’s a-tryin’ to be the whole Old Testament when he ain’t nothin’ but a plain, common Arkansas farmer.”
