If an instructor’s education credentials do not match the primary course that he or she is assigned to teach, the department chairs must further review the individual 's backgrounds and credentials and select a special justification as appropriate based on the equivalent training, ability, and/or experience of the instructor. The four special justification options available in the system are (1) having extensive professional experience in the teaching discipline, (2) having extensive research experience in the teaching discipline, (3) having extensive non-degree educational experience in the teaching discipline, or (4) serving as study abroad program director. If one of these special justification options applies for a faculty member for an individual course, the department chair can then add brief but specific details to the Instructor Roster describing the instructor’s additional qualifications for teaching the

In 1787 two men helped influence the making of the constitution of America. These two men had some minor differences but they both wanted the same outcome, for the united states to be independent. Patrick Henry and Benjamin Franklin both gave amazing speeches that lead to the making of the constitution and to America being a free and independent country. Patrick Henry and Benjamin Franklin both had similar ideas when it came to what to do with Britain. Patrick Henry believed that they must fight that if they didn't fight they would have no liberty.
Patrick Henry, a man who spoke with eloquence, addressed the second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775, in St. John’s Church, Richmond Virginia. He truthfully said, “I speak the language of thousands.” His mother, Sarah Henry, a Winston, and his father, a Scottish immigrant, well-to-do planter, John Henry, had him on May 29, 1736. Patrick Henry was their second of nine children.
The "Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death" speech, was delivered by Patrick Henry at the third Virginia convention, held in St. John's Church in Richmond on March 23, 1775. Patrick's goal was to get the colonists to take arms against the British, but of course, no revolution starts with just asking. Who is someone you admire? In our present society, many types of people, from presidents to musicians, are adored, but this was not always the case. During the 1500’s, kings, along with the clergy, constituted the select few who would be considered the counterparts of modern celebrities, since they were perceived and reverenced as God’s delegates on earth. Henry V, an English monarch, was no exception.
Henry IV was one of the most important rulers in France's history because he settled the religious wars between the huguenots ( protestants) and the catholics and also restored France to strong place. Henry did this by installing the edict of nantes which like i said before allowed the protestants to live in peace and worship and live wherever and whoever they wanted. since henry switched from protestantism to catholicism many people hated him for this and this was the cause of his death because in 1610, a crazed lunatic jumped into his cart and stabbed him to death. Although henry's son did inherit the throne, he was not by any means fit to rule. in 1624 Louis XIII appointed cardinal richelieu to power.
Patrick Henry Argument Analysis Throughout Patrick Henry’s speech, he uses many literary devices to convey his thought and opinions to his audience, and with it, he hopes to alter or sway their views on the subject matter. Starting from the very end of Henry's speech, he states “but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”, this now infamous line uses the logical fallacy of false dilemma. This fallacy, also known as either/or, plays to his advantage as it makes the problem seem greater than it actually is by only presenting two extreme options, liberty or death. Another literary device Henry uses in his speech, is ethos, which appeals to the audience's moral or ethical plane.
On March 23, 1775, “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” was heard all throughout St. John 's Church. These famous words were not only a great speaker looking to have his voice heard, but they would have an everlasting impact on young English students studying the use of ethos, logos, and pathos. Patrick Henry also used figurative languages such as allusions, parallelism, and biblical references to bring his speech to life. In this specific piece of literature, qualities like independence and individualism are exceedingly prominent, this all being due to Henry’s use of literary devices. Conversely, in the very first sentence, Henry uses ethos to articulate how he is patriotic to his home, but he occupies diverse views than his audience, the Virginia
Patrick Henry’s claim in his speech to the Virginia Convention is war with England is the only way to win freedom and their desires because England makes this the only choice. Before Patrick went up there were other men that had spoken before him, these men were speaking their views on whether or not they should initialize the war. Once Patrick has his chance to say his part he believes that they should fight because England hasn’t been fair. Patrick states this basically by saying “An appeal to arms and to the God of Hosts is all that is left us”. This is such a powerful statement because what he’s proposing is extremely dangerous.
The authors of these texts and speeches believe that all men are created equal and have inalienable rights because those rights are endowed to us by our “Creator.” Patrick Henry supports this belief when he asserts ”If we wish to be free-if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending-if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained-we must fight!” This quote supports Henry’s desire for equality and individual freedoms because he says “and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall
Edward Mitchell 10/22/2016 English 10 Essay Unit 1 Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson played a large role in motivating the fight toward freedom in the weeks leading up to the Revolutionary War and immediately following it. Each believed in the fundamental right to be free from rule. Patrick Henry appealed to the people’s fear of war. Thomas Jefferson was able to convince people that together, they could form a new nation. The writings of each man reveals a very chaotic time in America’s history and the leadership, determination, and boldness of Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson ensured that when change came, the people were ready for it.
Louis had a philosophy that money was of more power than the sword this information was passed on to Henry as when he was king he made Lords pay tax to make England rich and make himself wealthier,. This was seen as an act of fairness and equality something that made Henry increasingly popular with his subjects as fairness was a good characteristic of a king and earned him respect whilst he was founding the Tudor dynasty. He showed fairness in other ways as well by publically rewarding some of his local servants, knighting 11 of them on the battlefield showing that he saw courage in those of a slower rank than him, this was probably taught to him by Francis who put Henry in care of de Rieux who was lower than him in rank but who Francis saw
