Ray Bradbury was a very famous American author known for writing Horror and Fantasy. He was born August 22, 1920 and grew up in Waukegan, Illinois. Bradbury’s father was a swedish immigrant who worked in the power industry. Bradbury loved his hometown, which he later used as inspiration in a handful of his works. At a young age, he was fascinated by fantasy stories and magicians. At the age of 12 Bradbury set his mind to becoming a writer, because his love for adventure stories and novels was vigorous. In 1934 Bradbury’s family move to Los Angeles California. Whilst in California, he attended Los Angeles High School and often ambled through Hollywood, becoming friends other creative and talented minds. These two women left a major mark on his life, giving him the tools and talents needed to inspire his career as a writer. He graduated in 1938, and was not able to attend college because he was not able to afford it. This did not stop him from learning, Bradbury often went to his local library, spending hours reading and self educating himself in every aspect. His first short story published was “Hollerbochen’s Dilemma” created in 1938. Whilst his writing career took off, Bradbury sold newspapers in his spare time. In 1941 he published his first professional piece, “The Pendulum”. In 1947 he published Dark Carnival, a compilation of his short stories. Bradbury’s career finally kicked off with the publication of his book The Martian Chronicles. This book created his position as a well-known science fiction writer. Finally, in 1953, Bradbury published his most well-known book, Fahrenheit 451. The book focuses on the main character, Montag. Throughout the book, the main character goes through internal conflicts, as he realizes many things about the world he lives
