Gary Charles Evans was born October 7, 1954 in Troy, New York. Gary had one sister, his parents divorced when he was 14. After the divorce, his mother married multiple other times before revealing she was gay. His mother mostly did odd jobs, like garment and retail. There was a period where the factory had no work so she helped out a Jewish family doing dishes and bathrooms. Gary’s father was Army Air Corps Pilot in 1940’s and 1950’s. On January 13, 1977, Gary was caught robbing a home in Lake Placid, New York. For 3rd degree larceny, Gary was sentenced to 4 years in state prison, he was held at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York. When Gary was 25, he was caught with stolen items, worth a couple hundred dollars, and was sent back to jail because he was still out on parole for not serving the remaining 2 years of his sentence. He was brought to Old Rensselaer County Jail in downtown Troy, New York. He was placed in solitary confinement because with the help of some Hell’s Angels, he escaped, but was picked up about 5 hours after he escaped and brought back to the jail. February 16, 1985, Falco and Evans go to East Greenbush, New York, with 2 large duffle bags, a police scanner, a rope ladder, and some common burglary tools. Their goal was to get some gold and valuables. They filled the two duffel bags with jewelry and valuables worth about $15,000. When they got in the car and drove for a minute, a cop pulled them over, asking what they were doing, they said they went to the bathroom behind the building, the cop wrote down their names and addresses and let them go. Wayne Gretzky is the greatest NHL player of all time. From the beginning of his childhood Gretzky always had a profound talent for hockey. At the age of two years old Gretzky was already skating and learning how to control a hockey puck. With hours upon hours of practice everyday Gretzky eventually became the greatest player in the little league, minor league, and one day the greatest player in the NHL. Gretzky started at the bottom of his league when he began playing hockey, but over time he became the best player on all the teams that he played for.

In 2001, when he was arrested, yet again, for soliciting prostitution, his saliva sample was ran and turned up as a match to semen samples that has been previously collected in the bodies of three women murdered by the Green River Killer (“The Arrest”, 2013). He was arrested on November 30th, 2001 on the suspicion of murdering four women. He served two years of prison time before a plea bargain, sparing his execution, was issued including a confession to 48 counts of aggravated first-degree murder in addition to providing assistance for locating his victims (Quad-City Times, 2003). Once the plea bargain was processed, “King County Superior Court Judge Richard Jones sentences Gary Ridgway to 48 life sentences with no possibility of parole and one life sentence.

At about the age of sixteen, is when we learn of Gary’s first confirmed attempt to kill. The year was 1966 (, when Gary led a six year old boy into the woods. The boy remembers being stabbed in the side several times, and looking up at Ridgway asking, “Why did you kill me?” The only real answer that Ridgway gave; was to shrug his shoulders, throw his head back and laugh, and respond by saying, he just wanted to know what it felt like (Seattle Post).

John Wayne Gacy was born March 17, 1942 from John Wayne Gacy Sr. and Marion Elaine Robinson. He had a troubled relation with his father, who was an alcoholic and abusive to him calling him a “sissy.”
Gary Ridgway is a serial killer born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mary and Thomas Ridgway on February 18, 1949. Educationally, “Ridgway struggled academically and was tested with an I.Q. of 82, signifying low intelligence, and had to repeat a year twice,” (Childhood & Early Life). “Classmates described him as congenial and well liked among the student body,” (Childhood & Early Life). “Gary had a somewhat troubled childhood growing up in Seattle, as he was often involving in violent arguments with his parents and specifically his mother. Ridgway had a habit of bedwetting into his early teens, which earned him further belittlement and embarrassment from his mother,” (Childhood & Early Life).
Alvin Ailey is a great choreographer and a leading figure in Modern dance. Ailey’s best-known masterwork was Revelations, a work which tells the story of African American persistence to fight for freedom. Alvin Ailey is my role model and someone I want to grow up and be like. Even though I have never had a chance to meet him, through his work and his interview, I can feel the passion and a tremendous love he has for dance (Retro JC).
