I’m gonna talk about the book “Night” that we have read in class during the second term. The story has for setting the time period of the WWII, in Europe. The story is about Elie, a jew and his family that are facing a lot of struggles because of their religion. Over the course of the book, Elie changes from believing in God to not believe in God. This is important to the book as a whole because it connects to the internal conflict.

On March 16 I saw The Wedding Singer at Lawrenceville High School. Overall the Performing Arts Department did a good job with the resources they were given. The students were able to bring the characters of 70’s adults to the stage for most of the time and the costumes helped project those characters even more. Sadly the singing was only semi-decent and after intermission the amount of energy on stage went downhill fast and by the final celebratory number it was clear the majority of the actors were simply reciting lyrics and doing dance moves instead of enjoying what they were doing.
Many people dream of performing on stage, being a part of brilliant performances and productions. I, on the other hand, dream of working behind the scenes, and of being a part of the team that makes these performances and productions possible. Music and the arts are my passion, and I plan to work in the management, promotion and advocacy of arts organizations both nationally and internationally. Pursuing an M.A./M.B.A. dual degree in Arts Administration at the University of Cincinnati is the next step for me to achieve my life goals.
Upstage is back, downstage is front, right is left, left is right, out is up, break a leg but don't really, wings have nothing to do with birds, the catwalk doesn’t involve cats, and when the stage manager says move it means move. The theatre vocabulary is very confusing for the outside world, but for me it is my second language. More specifically, I have developed a passion for the technical elements of theatre over the years. The joy of being the “people in black” that can make amazing sets and produce incredible plays which goes unnoticed.. Although this discourse is much small yet complex it has helped me find out who I am but also in my academic skills through learning how to work in teams, solve problems independently but also how to be
Because I am in community theatre, I represent not only my community, but the company I am in as well. TACT has taught me how to express myself to a large group of people, to be dedicated, and to work hard to obtain a positive outcome. I have been performing through TACT since 2009. Ever since I began theatre, I started singing lessons. I am one of the older performers, so I must be a favorable epitome for the children who look up to the older actors.
(Auslander 4) The specific arts-based research method used in this study was performance ethnography. In order to investigate and present ethnographic findings, performance ethnography employs theatrical or performative methods. It entails working more creatively and collectively with research participants, as well as using performance to share research results with a larger audience. (Hark
This shorts story talks relates that just the thought that having “family ties” with other people can mean different set of rules to the relationship that one has with the rest of the people they live with. “He was born when i was six and was, from the outset, a disappointment” doodle was a kid who was born “weak” physically and had a not so strong will but his brother was another story he was not so patient and the pride that wrapped around his heart that didn 't let him see what was really happening he was so busy trying to help himself feel better that he had forgotten about the real world, thus taking doodle to its death. The scarlet ibis was also a mirror to doodle’s death because of how doodles legs were poised after his death both under
Music Observation 1 On Thursday, September 10, I went to Valley View Elementary to observe Mrs. Allison Whitmire’s Kindergarten music class. I arrived there little bit earlier so I got to observe the first grade class. They were studying about the American flag and singing the Star Spangled banner. After the first graders left, Mrs. Whitmire gave me a sheet of her lesson plan.
The arts were pushed into a corner, despite being able to help students grow who they are as people, but also help them in other important areas of school. The arts are important in education and should get funding appropriately. Receiving a good education in the arts can greatly help a student’s mental well being. Many students in school are shy, reserved,
The characters that I most relate to in the story are Sniff and Haw. Sniff because he got the skills to recognize and respond to changes in the environment much quicker than the others. He gets excited about creating new things and wants others to get excited with him. Another character that I can relate to is Haw, because he got the ability to understand and connect well with others. In the video, it is Haw who follows the two mice Sniff and Scurry, but at the same time was worried about where Hem is and how he’s doing.
Introduction Visual and performing arts tend to act as separate entities within the field of education; considerably isolated from the majority of academia, these sectors are often considered to be secondary or elective options after completing primary education. The arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, however, when an institute begins a budgeting process, the arts are rarely considered a top priority. For example, during periods of recession many public schools within the United Stated were forced to cut visual, performing and musical arts programs, despite studies that proved the exposure to the arts to be beneficial for students both academically and in extracurricular activities. Learning in an art-infused environment
Plot list: Christopher found Mrs. Shears dog dead.(Wellington) Christopher gets sent to jail for hitting an officer, and is asked a series of questions about Wellington’s death. Christopher decides to go on a mission figuring out Wellington’s death. 2. Personal reaction: Knowing what Christopher is having to go through right now is a little upsetting to me. For example, the cops don’t understand his disorder which is why they are being so cruel to him about Wellington 's death, thinking Christopher had done this.
I enjoyed and preferred performing in front of Year 9s as I knew I was part of the Year 9 group and was confident to receive their feedback both critical and constructive. Different audiences did affect my performance due to the fact that there were mature audiences. I wanted to perform my best and portray my character to the fullest potential as I was seeking acknowledgement/commendation gestures from the mature audiences on my character ‘Jordan’. Performing the same show four times a day was a bit exhausting though I found myself improving and gaining confidence as the delivery of my script was getting better each time. Also, I was totally engrossed in the character and couldn’t help myself out.
In the early years of education, the Performing Arts assume a particular significance as learning is both in and through the Arts. When appropriately managed, they are enjoyed in their own right, but also permeate other areas of the curriculum enabling greater relevance and meaning. The Performing Arts are an excellent means through which children, in their early years of schooling explore and express their feelings. Dance, drama and music are Arts disciplines through which children investigate ideas and exhibit opinions about their known and unknown world. The Performing Arts make an effective contribution to the personal and social development of children.
