A lot of different people have important careers within the Criminal Justice System, but in particular a K-9 officer and of course his/her dog is one of the most important aspects of criminal justice. After all, many K-9 officers say “it's worth it” because they generally have a lot of experience in law enforcement, but
Ms Bonnie Norton, a Dandenong pit bull breeder, has claimed, “Any dog in the hands of the wrong owner can be a threat”. Some people treat pit bull cruelty as they are only interested in pit bulls for fighting or guarding. This, again, gives pit bulls the feeling to attack. Others, they simply don’t follow the rule. They left their dog outside, in extreme weather, leaving them wandering around and attacks other people.
In the 1980’s, the targeted breed was the Rottweiler, and from the 1990’s to now, the Pitbull has been the targeted breed. A major factor that has influenced BSL, is the popularity of dog fighting. The history of the Pitbull explains why they are such a wanted breed for dog fighting. At their origin they were bred to participate in bull fighting or bear baiting.
Under the right circumstances, and dog can be violent. It is time to stop blaming all dog attacks on one breed, and instead, change the way we treat pit bulls, take a look at their owners and how they may be treating
Hounds are made to kill anyone that breaks the law. The government doesn 't care if violence is used, its part of life. “A four inch hollow steel needle plugged down from the proboscis of the Hound to inject massive jolts of morphine and procaine.” (Bradbury 22).
Also each year 16,000 dogs killed each year in organized dog
They use pit-bulls for dog fighting due to pit-bulls are quick to learn, eager to please and easy to handle. According to The American Pit-Bull Terriers, “Once a pit-bull accepts you as their master, they will gladly lay down their own life to please you.” The breed has an incredible sense of determination; once they start, they will not stop until they cannot keep going anymore or until their owner tells them to stop. The desire to complete their task combined with their unbelievable sense of loyalty makes them an easy target for dog fighters and criminals alike. The myth that pit-bulls love to fight is just a myth, it’s came from the human exploitation and their sense of determination.
Dogs are not born to give use a source of entertainment at the expense of their lives. Many dogs do not make it to a loving home after they are caught. Dogs do not get the proper living space or food and water that they need to survive. Many professional dog fighters have their dogs bred to have certain traits and gene to give the owner an advanced in the ring. Dogs are often poorly treated (Kalof).
Even when a dog fighting scene is raided by the police and they rescue the dogs most of them would be euthanized, because of a supposed killer instinct (Delise 96). Most cities would kill any pit bull that is loose, because of the rumors and some still do (Kalof). Ever since the media started bashing
The assistance of service dogs is very critical to current army soldiers and veterans that deal with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety issues primarily by treating their health issues. Individuals rarely notice service dogs; especially, in a world that is filled with endless amounts of devices that consist of technological influence. Service dogs offer very beneficial services to individuals. Specifically, to soldiers that have PTSD and other stress issues, in which these issues are slowly deteriorating their lives throughout time. There have been three particular cases where the assistance of service dogs have been a life-saver to these individuals: Carl Ringberg Luthy Reed, and Brett Simon and they all benefited from the utilization
In the transformation between adulthood and childhood violence, gender, nationality all influence how one experiences that change. However, in adolescent coming of age stories the greatest factor affecting transformation is often gender, as illustrated by “The Laughing Man” by J.D. Salinger, “The Wild Dogs” by Peter Skrzynecki, “The Verb To Kill” by Luisa Valenzuela, and “Where are you going” by Joyce Carol Oates. In adolescent stories gender determines one's experience more than nationality because boys tend to experience physical violence while girls tend to experience troublesome relationships. “The Laughing Man” is a vignette about a boy being watched after school by the “Chief”(71) who is their babysitter. The Chief tells the boys stories
There are some places where dog fighting is legal such as Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino, the Tosa Inu and the Presa Canario and much more. Dog fighting was originally in England (instead of dogs they used bears and other animals) but was later outlawed because they “made” a breed of pit bulls (Staffordshire Bull Terrier). After a dogfight if/when the dog(s) get hurt the owners don 't treat any of the injuries. If the dog(s) die in a fight it is known as the biggest disgrace that could happen in a fight. There are many types of dogfighting, such as dog baiting.
Hence why people use them as fight dogs. Many dogs such a Labrador retriever or German shepherd are used for hunting and still deemed as good dogs. Another myth about Pit Bulls are that they do not feel pain giving them “The desire to continue on and/or complete a task despite pain and discomfort,” as said in the article The Real Pitbull. This is untrue, Pit Bulls have the same amount of pain tolerance and nervous system as any other dog
Animal Cruelty Have you ever wondered how much atrocious animal treatments are occurring around the world? The average number of animal abuse cases reported in the media each year is 1,920 according to a study conducted this year by Statistic Brain Research Institute. Moreover, a lot of animals struggle around the globe because they are often beaten, neglected and hunted, which forces them to fight for survival. Helpless animals continue to be exploited by humans and are still constantly being robbed of their lives. Thus, animal cruelty is the killing, exploiting and neglecting the needs of animals that are causing extinction and nonessential suffering.
These animals should be taken to animal shelters and taken away from the people who beat them and make them fight. If you ever see a dog walking on the side of the road and it looks like its malnurited then you should do it a favor and take
