The princess is self-centered, like her father. They are both very passionate and caring, but tend to put themselves first over everything. When her father found out about her lover and his trial was set, she somehow found a way to know behind which door the princes and the tiger would come out. It was only when she found out that the princess behind one of the doors was one of the most beautiful in the land, that her hatred began to set in.
Seeing the two together would constantly remind her of her decision, but choosing the tiger, it would be over quickly. The princess would feel guilty about sending her lover to his death, but as time goes on she will heal. She would not be constantly reminded of her decision because she is not going to see the young man around anymore, making her memories fade, and her guilt of the decision lessen.

Rob demonstrates the author's theme in the novel "The Tiger Rising" by keeping his emotions to himself. This is proven in the story when the author explains what Rob imagines him doing to his emotions. According to "The Tiger Rising", "He made all his feeling go inside the suitcase, he stuffed them in tight and then sat on the suitcase and locked it shut. " This quote proves that Rob demonstrates the theme, don't keep your emotion to yourself.

This happened when Frank Stockton wrote The Lady or the Tiger. He created this story with the intent of leaving the resolution out in order to force the reader to create their own ending. Through characterization in any story the reader can get a sense of a character through indirect and direct characterization. Stockton used characterization throughout The Lady or the Tiger and that is how the reader can complete the story on their own and feel complete rather than incomplete without the ending being in the story. Through characterization the ending of this story, which is the princess telling her lover to choose the gate with the tiger in it, is very predictable.
Another message found within the story is the meaning behind the tiger’s wife and her relationship with the tiger. The negative ideologies that the citizens have internalized portrays how war and conflict intensifies prejudice and discrimination. As the citizens are living in fear and anger, they take this out on something they can control, which in this case is the tiger’s wife. This was an interesting as the readers can understand the author’s opinion on war. As it is set in the former Yugoslavia, where the author was born and raised until the age of 7, readers can understand her political views on the Balkan and Croatian

Although the princess loved the prince, she had seemed quite jealous of the girl behind one of the doors. The narrator said that the princess had seen her lover and the girl talking, the princess also said how the girl was one of the fairest and loveliest ladies on damsels of court who had been selected for the prince. Jealousy can change people, out of jealousy the princess could be telling the prince to go to the door with the tiger behind it, the prince could pick the door he wanted I stead of choosing the door she wanted and then if he got eaten alive it would be his fault, and if he got married to the lovely lady then he would know that he chose the right fate

The text piece also states “Exotic pets can also spread disease” and “In addition, many exotic pets end up on the loose in the wild”. Therefore, exotic animals are highly dangerous and they can be very harmful to people. People should get exotic animals as pets if they know that they could bring harm to them or anyone that the animal could get
