The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is a major monopoly business operated by the government, which prevents entrepreneurs from entering and competing in the industry. The government should open up a lane in this industry because it is failing. It is failing because of the electronic age which makes it easier and faster to send letters and other mail; driven by the rise of email, Facebook, and Internet bill paying; the decline of printed magazines; and the rise of online advertising as an alternative to bulk print advertising. America should allow entrepreneurs to enter this service to possibly make it adjustable to the internet age. Private entities have more of a flexibility to deal with today 's challenges. Congress should privatize the USPS, repeal
More than 180,000 people join the military each year, you might think that a lot of people but it’s not. The U.S. military is 241 years old and is bigger than it was when it started but if more people do not start joining it will soon cease to be in existence. The U.S. military has issues with wussification, their budget, tactical training, and regulations.
The USA PATRIOT (Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001) was a necessary and effective piece of legislation that enhanced the security of the nation and will continue, in a modified form, to prevent future terrorist attacks although it was quite intrusive on American’s civil liberties. According to detailed study of the decade following 9/11, “If we just look at the decade between 2001 and 2011, we still see that the number of terrorist attacks has declined since Sept. 11.” So, in terms of achieving its goal, it has been successful. Signed into law by President George W. Bush in October of 2001 in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the United States during
The Articles of Confederation structured the first government of the thirteen states. The thirteen states included: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Rhode Island. However, Rhode Island did not vote to revise the Articles right away. Therefore, the proposals of the Constitution continued to be declined by the other states due to not having a balance on votes. When Rhode Island finally sent a representative to the Constitution Convention, the Constitution was approved.
The moment that the Twin Towers fell in New York, America became destined for change. In the wake of these attacks, the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001 was quickly passed through congress, and signed by then-president, George W. Bush. The act itself gives the FBI and other government agencies the ability to do and use certain methods, many of which are already used by other law enforcement organizations, to help prevent future terrorist attacks. Since then, this piece of legislation has been the center of much debate and controversy. But, there is ample reason to believe that the Patriot Act is needed and effective.
As a Patriot, I believe that Britain is a very cruel country that is ruining our lives. With the high taxes and the harsh laws, they are just taking our money and our ability to live our lives on our own, without any force from anyone else. I want my fellow colonists to live a life without pain and suffering. I would like them to live a free life, not a life controlled by the British. Would you like to life a life where you are forced to pay high taxes to a king who is abusing power?
The first constitution of the unites states that was ever written was called the Articles of Confederation drafted by congress on 1777. The Articles of Confederation were created to balance the need for national coordination of the war of independence. The articles made sure that each state no matter how big or populated it was only casted one vote to make it fair for everyone. The only power the articles gave the government was regarding its independence, this included declaring war, conducting foreign affairs, as well as making treaties with other governments. The main advantage of the Articles of Confederation was that it aided to maintain the independence and sovereignty of each state.
If congress ever votes to pass this act not only would they do a woeful job at representing the people, but they’d be breaking the rule
5.1. Describe the types of mail services used in business organisations • Post Office Services – The post office service such as Royal Mail will often deliver and collection an organisations post, saving time and effort from staff having to take this to a collection point. Usually, this will be collected if the organisation has its own franking machine to prepare all out-going mail with the correct postage paid on it. • Couriers – These are used for more bulky packages, which are required in urgent matters but is often more expense than using Royal Mail services for example. • Overseas
While the Patriots were starving, freezing, and suffering in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, the British were spending their time in comfort in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is just one of the many differences between the experiences of the British and the Patriots during the Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War was fought for about seven years. Over the span of this war, the British and the Patriots faced many different challenges and successes. The experiences of the British and the Patriots during the war differ because of their advantages and disadvantages which both contribute to the outcome.
It is also very important that the mailing service used is efficient and convenient, using the franking machine is convenient for the post team, therefore this is how letters are sent from Parking and Traffic Control department. When sending internationally it is important to take the price into consideration as the price can often change depending on the weight of the parcel and how far it is going, As Traffic and Parking Control do not send packages this is not something I have had to do, however I would assume that price would be a determining factor for the departments who do send parcels when choosing a courier company, in addition to this the value of the parcel or letter must be accounted for and therefore choosing a courier service that offers a form of insurance might be an important
1.) The legislative branch basically conceives the law while the executive I believe, is the main enforcer after the president signs whatever reform/bill into law. So, I guess I 'll go with the Executive Branch since it is home to the Department of State because its our foreign ministry. 2.) Yes and No.
The government is the political direction and controlled exercised over the actions of the members, citizens, or inhabitants of communities, societies and states. More government is better for the United States because the government provides services such as public transportation, like planes, trains and buses, gives the option of free public school for all children, and the Department of Public Safety, such as firemen, policemen and the Transportation Security Administration. The government provides public transportation for all people. Public transportation helps solve the United States solution to the nation’s economic, energy, and environmental challenges – helping bring a better quality of life. The most popular forms of public transportation
Boom! The door slams down, agents are rushing in the room yelling “put your hands up”! The suspect yells “don’t shoot” and drops his gun onto the floor. Today being a federal agent is very dangerous. Just think at what you see on the news about federal agents.
INTERNAL ENVIORNMENT Constantly an “evolving machine,” Amazon’s same day delivery promises to be the next big step in e-commerce (Murray and Chu, 2015). According to an article by Business Insider, a study from L2, found that a quarter of shoppers would abandon their online cart if same-day shipping wasn’t available. Per the article, that’s a problem that most retailers face, especially since only one-fifth of retail stores offer same-day shipping at checkout. The retailers who offer same-day shipping tend to charge exceptionally high prices for the convenient service. When customers think of the word “fast shipping,” they tend to believe that means same-day shipping.
If this question was raised twenty, even twenty-five years ago, the obvious answer would be no, as using the postal service was one of the best forms of communication. However, in this age surrounded by bigger and better forms of communication than the postal service, would we still need a rule like the postal rule? This brings several questions such as: would it be better if we didn’t have the postal rule? What would change if we rid of the postal rule? What wouldn’t change?
