Growing Up In Poor Neighborhoods Conflict Is Often Resolved Through Violence

281 Words2 Pages
In poor neighborhoods conflict is often resolved via violence because that is the only way they know how to handle the situation. Also in poor neighborhoods there are gangs, drug dealers, and no positive role models around to influence the community. Most African American parents are not as strict on their children as to watch they view on television. Seeing violence and crime on television, can result in the child’s behavior in the real world. Growing up in poverty with a single parent, leaves young adults to provide for themselves through a life of crime and violence within the streets. People in more affluent neighborhoods do not result to violence because they are more educated on how to resolve the conflict without the use of violence.
