Cindy Lou is questioning the materialism that surrounds Christmas, so she nominates the Grinch as this year's Cheermeister to show that Christmas is about loving one another. She convinces the Grinch to come down from his cave and join the celebration, however, the mayor shames the Grinch in front of the entire town. This causes the Grinch to destroy the Cheermeister Festival in a fit of anger. He schemes to ruin the rest Christmas by stealing all the decorations and presents in every house in Whoville.
As is customary, this occurs at the end when the Grinch renounces his evil ways, returns all the supplies to the Whos’, and partakes in their Christmas celebrations. This story line spans many different story types but is found in examples such as Harry Potter, (not the Grimms’ brothers) Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, and Rapunzel. Lastly there are a few symbolic archetypes, the most important being the symbol of light. When the Grinch decides to return all the presents, the morning is described as being “bright and light”, which symbolizes hope and renewal.

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas The Grinch who stole Christmas is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books and one of my favorite Christmas movies. I found 3 things similar to one another in the book and the movie which had the Grinch who hated Christmas, the Who’s who loved Christmas, and the Grinch stole all of the presents and food. One identical thing I found in the movie and book was that the Grinch hated Christmas. If they didn’t put the Grinch’s hate for Christmas in both the book and, he would have no reason to steal Christmas and it wouldn’t have been a very good movie.
The conflict begins with Ebenezer Scrooge being a greedy, selfish old man. For Scrooge, Christmas is just a poor excuse for picking a man’s pocket (Dickens,6). The climax of the drama is when Scrooge sees his grave and realizes that no one cares. In the drama, three spirits from his past, present, and future show him how greedy and mean he is to everyone. Scrooge makes a promise of changing and being a better person before it’s too late.

A Christmas Carol is mainly about a old man named Ebenezer Scrooge who once had a partner named Jacob Marley, but after Marley died, Scrooge started to hate Christmas and was mean to everyone. One night, Scrooge saw Marley in his room and Marley said that Scrooge will be visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. Finally, at the end Scrooge became nice and caring to prevent Tiny Tim (Scrooge’s worker, Mr. Cratchit, son) from dying, himself from dying, and the whole town becoming dark and dreadful. A Christmas Carol is a really good movie and book. Also, it gives you a sad, happy, and a scary mood.
