The two Land Ordinances passed by Congress under the Articles of Confederation were the Land Ordinance of 1785 and the Northwest Ordinance of 1787. In the Land Ordinance of 1785, it helped to settle the new territories to the North by allowing many citizens to buy the land at cheap prices. The Land Ordinance of 1785 was significant because it was used to help lower the national debt. It also helped set up many public schools in the North which continued and set a precedent for public American education that is seen today. I think Hamilton’s plan of a national bank was successful because it helped to stimulate the nation’s economy like it was planned to. It also gave the new nation a good foundation financially. It also was successful because it created a new united currency that was the same throughout the whole Union. When the stock was put up for sale publicly, it was sold out in less than two hours, which also expresses the successfulness of Hamilton’s idea of a national bank even though many people like Thomas Jefferson thought it was
