I am interested in the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire for many reasons. My top four reasons are: the strong Biology and Environmental Science programs, the School of Education, specifically–secondary education, the variety of music programs on campus, and the pre-professional programs that Eau Claire offers. Ever since I was little, I was the child knee deep in a mud puddle, or making my own bath bombs out of materials I found in the kitchen cupboards. These home experiments, summer science camps

Why did you choose to become a Badger? I chose to attend UW-Madison primarily because it is one of the best institutions for biochemistry in the United States but also because I spent a lot of time in Madison and in Monona as a child with my parents and grandmother so the area already feels like home. What are you looking forward to while at UW-Madison? What I'm looking forward to most at Madison is being a part of a community where I can learn pretty much anything within walking distance of where
In today’s society student athletes are often seen by others in a harsher light. They are viewed as having an expansive ego or being acquainted with a multitude of friends. Many athletes are believed to push their bodies to the limit when they attempt to improve their musculature and pay careful attention to their diets. The reality is that all of this is far from the truth as not all athletes are perfect. In fact, Athletes as whole are often misrepresented and misunderstood in today’s culture. The
In one of Octavia Butler’s most well known books, Dana a struggling black author is yanked back in time to the antebellum south multiple times to save the life of her white slave-owning ancestor Rufus Weylin. When literary critics examined this piece of science fiction, many were motivated to write papers on a myriad of subjects in the book’s less than 300 pages. Scholarship on Octavia Butler’s Kindred has evolved from primarily focusing on how the novel connects its readers to the past to addressing
I would like to start off by saying thank you for taking the time to consider my application to attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. When looking for colleges, I had to pick which would be the best choice for me going down the business path. When a friend told me about looking into Whitewater, I did and it was at that moment I knew it was one of my top choices. When hearing you have one of the best business schools in the state, I realized that this college was one that would provide me
I am and always will be a Badger. Growing up, I have heard countless stories from my parents, both of whom attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. These stories first encouraged me to look at this university: the legendary boating scare on lake Monona, the time they pulled two, back-to-back all nighters for a final, crazy nights at the Kollege Klub, and most importantly, meeting the love of their life. I fell in love just as they had. When I was younger, I was shown the “ins and outs” of the
“80 percent of millionaires were not born wealthy-they built their fortune through their own hard work.” A quote from The Millionaire Next Door, by T.J. Stanley and W.D Danko. We all dream of being successful. In fact I do every second of the day ,sitting in all my classes. I also think to myself that I hope I get a job in the future that makes me the happiest. And a job that pays me well so I can get thousands of nike shoes. Sadly, getting a job where I get paid doing what I want is not easy. Thus

I am very interested in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire after my experience touring the campus on October 21st. One of the most important aspects of college life, to me, is having an identity on campus. At many larger schools, I have felt lost, and as if I were to attend, I would just be another name in the crowd. However, at Eau Claire, I felt the almost polar opposite. I saw the unique personalities of the students around me, and I felt a very welcoming sense to the whole campus. Before
I have been interested in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire ever since I heard about the excellent achievements in their nursing program. I kept seeing nurses with an Eau Claire degree and a plethora of knowledge and experience that comes with it. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire caught my attention then but all of the different features of the college held my interest steadfast throughout my high school years. Every since I was a child, I knew that I wanted to spend my life taking care
I am thinking of majoring in communication disorders, and I plan on going to graduate school to become a speech pathologist. This career field interests me a lot. I like the variety and creativity involved with it. I used to go to speech when I was younger, and that is what interests me in being a speech therapist so much. A speech pathologist specializes in the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders. They are also known as speech and language therapists. Their job is to prevent, assess
The challenges I have faced influenced my academic performance and guided me into pursuing my college education. My junior year was a struggle for me. I decided to challenge myself like I have never been challenged before. I took on an honors class that I clearly wasn 't ready for, but I stuck with it and was determined to finish. In the beginning the intensity surprised me and I did not do as well as I would have liked to. Instead of giving up, I decided to commit more time every night, work harder
