Instead of pitying herself, she decided to be courageous and do her duty- to almost any extent. For example, she was once caught by the Confederate army for spying, and was sentenced to death by hanging. Even so, she stayed calm, never gave up, and improvised her way out. She used her previous acting experience to pretend to be sick. The court allowed her to get better first, but after she had “healed”, she acted weak at court.

Isabella Baumfree protested when John Dumont , Isabella Baumfree 's previous owner whom she ran away from, sold her son, Peter, to a family in Alabama. Two white lawyers, whom we don 't know the name of, in New York gave Baumfree free legal help and liberated Peter through the courts. Sojourner Truth moved to Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1857 and became active there helping black people escape on the Underground Railroad to freedom.

The Seven Deadly Sins are most commonly used in the Christian faith. They describe seven different sins that, when committed in excess, lead one’s spirit to damnation. Abigail Williams from Arthur Miller’s The Crucible commits several of these sins, including lust, envy, and wrath. These sins will also have a “domino” effect, for if one hadn’t been committed, then the other two would not have been, either. The first sin that Abigail commits is Lust.
