Adolf Hitler: The Atrocious Leader During The Holocaust

Similar to the first World War, World War II was a dispute between powers and or countries and involved the death of million of civilians and militants of those disputing countries.There are many events that have made World War II significant and i will show you in this essay.

In the 20th century, World War II began and caused many deaths everywhere in Europe, The war was fought between many countries that formed two different alliances: the Allies and the Axis. One of the leaders from the Axis power, Adolf Hitler, hated the Jews. He believed that the Aryan race was the master race of the people. All who were not considered as Aryan race was discriminated and hated in Germany. Jewish people were victim of the abuse that they received from the "Superior" Aryan race, they were sent towards concentration camp and were treated harshly and killed in cold blood, simply because of their religion, this was called the holocaust. Only a small amount of Jews survived the holocaust, a lot of stories from Jews who had suffered through the horror of concentration camp had surfaced and revealed the horror that they experienced, one of this Jews that spoke up is Joseph Sher.

During the Holocaust, Jews were robbed of their identities and their humanity in countless ways. The Holocaust was conducted like an experiment about how many ways a person could be dehumanized, then killed. It is hard to understand how people could do such horrific and inhumane things to other humans. It doesn't seem humanly possible to put innocent human beings through such terrible physical and emotional pain. The Nazis deprived concentration camp inmates of their natural human rights, and of any other humanity they had left in them.

Jews that lived during the Holocaust were robbed and deprived of their God given rights and humanity.. They slowly lost hope, faith, family, and the reason you keep living. Elie Wiesel realizes he has to let go of his family to survive when the doctor says, “In this place there is no such thing as father, brother, friend”(110). This is dehumanizing because people are born needing a family to depend on and once they lose something as simple as that, they fall into a pit of negative emotions. Thousands of people lost their family members during the holocaust and the Germans had absolutely so sympathy towards them. The Nazis continued their torment by killing large groups of people in small, confined areas. This is supported by a Jew among Wiesel when he said, “we can’t let them kill us like that, like cattle in the slaughterhouse”(31).

During World War II, the Jewish people were treated like objects rather than people by their Nazi captors. The Nazi’s view of the Jews was not a good one. They weren’t viewed as human anymore.

Of all the evil that ever took place in the world one that is very well know is the Holocaust. It was one of the cruelest and dehumanizing things that ever took place in the world. It was a way to not only torture the Jews but to destroy them mentally and physically. Merriam Webster defines "Holocaust" as a sacrifice consumed by fire. My historical perspective changed drastically with this fact because Jewish people were so isolated compared to people from different religions to the point where they were told where to live and the area they lived in was in a highly poor condition. Jewish people were most likely treated so harshly because they were blamed for all the issues that arose in Germany which is completely racist and illogical. This fact angered me so much because people during the 1940s were so blinded by their rage towards Jewish people that they did inhuman things to them as a form of revenge. I would be hurt, irritated, and heartbroken if I were a Jew who was forced to live in Ghettos. I might’ve even reached the point where I would be questioning my existence just like Eliezer did because I’d be utterly hopeless. In the 1940’s, Jewish people were captured and thrown into concentration camps against their will. Jews spent years completing hard labor and saw things that will never escape their memories. People were gassed, tortured, and some were even thrown into fires alive. During the war in Germany, over 6 million Jews were murdered by Nazi’s due to their religion. Discrimination has been a huge problem for hundreds of years and it continues to spread each and every day. People are beginning to spread awareness of this topic and certain cultures have joined together to create peace. Discrimination is a world-wide issue that we can take down with awareness and a kind, open heart.
