Adrian Peterson There are only 1,696 players in the NFL. The elite of the elite. This may sound like a large number but in the grand scheme of things, 1,696 men out of the 150 million men in the United States is nothing. One of these elite few is Adrian Peterson. With over 12,000 rushing yards and 100 touchdowns in his career, some would say Adrian is one of the best running backs in NFL history (NFL). This did not come along without hardship though. Throughout his life, Adrian has endured immense loss. He lost people such as his brother, his father, step brother, and most recently one of his sons he never even knew. Coming from the humblest beginnings imaginable, signing one of the biggest contracts in his draft class had to feel good. His life had finally culminated to where he wanted to be: The NFL. Breaking records throughout his rookie campaign seemed like a hot knife slicing through butter for Adrian. Winning Offensive Rookie of the Month the first month of the season, breaking the rushing record for a game with 296 yards as a rookie, this kid was phenomenal. This was only the start for the youngster from Palestine, Texas. He would later be voted as the starting running back for the NFC in the Pro Bowl game, where all the best NFL players go to compete. Adrian would rush for 129 yards, the second most in Pro Bowl history, leading to him being named the 2008 MVP of the Pro Bowl (NFL).
