He was taken into Denkyira and made into a slave for a long time before escaping but while he was he learned a lot about their military strategies and all kinds of war tactics this was one of his biggest advantages in the coming future. After he escaped he then realized how big of a threat they were so after getting the help of a very famous priest of the time named Okomo Anokey together by using a sacred item to the religion called the golden stool he convinced all the leader of the states to gather under him and form the Asante Kingdom. Now that he had control over all the military he started reclaiming small city states and other things that had been taken over by their neighbors but he knew he needed something else something to give him enough strength to take over the Denkyira and all the other great kingdoms surrounding him. During Polk’s time at West Point he was training to become an artillery officer. At the end of his stay in West Point a religious revival came across the campus. It was during this revival where Polk realized his true calling, ministry. He finished his education at West Point and got a job as an artillery officer, but quit a few months later to enter seminary. Over the last three hundred years many strong men and women have stepped up and led America to victory, our founding fathers are just a few men to broke through the struggle and inspired us to be brave and fight for our country. Freedom, opportunity, and sacrifice is what I think our country’s foundation consists of. Freedom for America didn’t come easy, America lost 3 wars, had one civil war, 1 nuclear war, and we have lost about 1.1 million soldiers in war. Our country has fought about 12 wars and are still fighting for what we think is “peace”. War hasn’t solved everything for this country but amongst all the fighting we have found other things to make this country thrive.
