Literary Heros For The Ages A Hero. As Maya Angelou said, “I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for everyone”A hero like Percy Jackson, and Odysseus is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Two major literary characters have earned this title, Odysseus from The Odyssey by Homer and Percy Jackson from the Percy Jackson Series written by Rick Riordan. One can argue that Odysseus is the better hero compared to Percy Jackson, but it should also be said that Percy “The Prodigy” Jackson is more deserving of the title “Hero”. Although many people believe that Odysseus in this generation is a hero because he valiant, strong and smart, one could also argue that he does everything for himself.

With this in mind, Mr. Grant, I have determined based upon their individual writings how to divide up the $5000 between Michael Levin, Mike Ryoko, Marcia Clarke, and John F. Kennedy. All author displayed exceptional writing and made valid points. However, Michael Levin’s “The Case For Torture” is far and away the best essay among these authors and warrants a bonus of ___. In second comes John F. Kennedy’s inaugural speech earning a bonus of ____. Third is Marcia Clarke’s “Selling Your Organs: Should it be Legal?
Dashiell Hammett "is now widely regarded as one of the finest mystery writers of all time," as said by the New York Times. In Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird there are some very courageous characters. The most courageous would be Atticus Finch. Atticus is one of the main characters in the book. He is the father of the narrator. He is also one of the best lawyers is the county.
“Amazing the things you will find when you bother to search for them.”-Sacagawea. Nowadays, when we think famous people we think of Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Lebron James, but what about the famous celebrities who made history? When I got the chance to research a famous deceased individual, I choose Sacagawea. Sacagawea was a very important person in the history of America, in fact without her help Lewis and Clark might have ended up lost on their famous expedition in 1804. Now don’t get me wrong, Lewis and Clark were very smart men, however Sacagawea knew the land very well that Lewis and Clark would be exploring. In addition to helping Lewis and Clark on their expedition,Sacagawea was also a courageous symbol of peace.
In this article, Moral hero and Nazi which are the two contrary terms is used to describe Singer. Singer is represented as a moral hero as he is the father of the modern animal rights movement. Singer is an influential philosopher where his best- selling book ‘Animal Liberation’ helped him to be one of the world’s 100 most influential people on TIME Magazine’s 2005. His great job leads to huge improvement in the treatment of animals. On the other hand, the description of Singer as the ‘Nazi’ is being applied because in a 2012 op-ed defending abortion, Singer claimed that “membership of the species Homo sapiens is not enough to confer a right to life.” He also mentioned that "Killing a disabled infant is not morally equivalent to killing a person.
John Locke’s Lethal weapon is a classic thriller which is centered on Donovan Creed, a former CIA hitman who is offered $100,000 for the murder of a murderer. But Donovan Creed sees through this fake bait and plans a counter-action. This book is really cheap to get at $0.99 and has gotten various positive reviews on websites such as good reads. I recommend this book to every reading person out there, as it contains a lot of suspense and action. It’s a wonderful book full of action, adrenaline and rush of blood moment.
In To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, there are many examples of the themes of individuality and belonging. Atticus Finch is definitely a perfect model of personal integrity and individuality, as he fights for the innocence of Tom Robinson, falsely accused of rape, as well as his own beliefs. A good example of this would be when Jem makes the observation of his father, Atticus, as he realizes, "It was times like these when I thought my father, who hated guns and had never been to any wars, was the bravest man who ever lived," (Chapter 11). Jem believes his dad is a hero in his own right because of his moral commitment to the law and to justice. Atticus goes against the grain of the majority that would rather see Tom proven guilty for a crime he did not even commit.

Audio Book Review ‘The Secret Chord’ (King David) by Geraldine Brooks [Video] Written by a Pulitzer Prize Winning Author! The Hebrew Bible claims; God loved King David most. Whether you view The Bible as a religious guide, history book, or a timeless work of literature, you likely find this idea perplexing enough to have a few questions pass through your mind’s eye. After all, King David was a warrior, a military leader that was responsible for many deaths, albeit to claim an earthly kingdom for God, many shed blood. Obviously addicted to power, for many, what makes this celestial favoritism even more compelling is David’s narcissism that often manifested as philandering with the wives of other men, and ultimately claiming them as his own.
