Dear Iowa State University Development Committee, In appreciation of the variety of cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds represented on Iowa State University’s campus, Students4ISU would like to propose an event that would recognize and celebrate the diversity found in the ISU community. The following document details a two-part event of a public concert and international food festival for the students enrolled at Iowa State. Included in the document are specifications for the event, recommendations for student safety, and a cost/profit projection for the event. Iowa State University takes pride in the diversity represented among the student body, who in turn embody the most wonderful elements of ISU’s culture.

I have led many club activities such as concession stands, volunteer services, and other community led activities. I have become a great leader to many of these kids as president of our school club, S-Club. I am in very good standing academically and known for my exceptional work ethic. I have matured with each of the trials and events I have encountered that have come my way during my senior year. The skills I have gained over the course of the year will help me towards my main career goal in mind, professional.
The band was invited to participate in Southern University’s homecoming parade and attend their homecoming game. Cameron and I are both in the band; he is trumpet player and I was a color guard member. I was extremely excited to go. This was going to be my trip of firsts.
As a student who values the ideas of hard work, leadership, and character, I am always looking for ways to improve and make a positive impact on my school and community. I believe these values align with my character and who I am as a student and human being in general, and I’m confident that my experiences and future goals make me a strong candidate for this membership. Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, including leadership roles in the Murabee program at my local mosque and weekly volunteering at, not just our mosque’s Sunday School, but our very own school’s library too. At the library, I contribute to the monthly thematic decor and the new bookshelf organization system. Furthermore, my being the treasurer of the Science National Honor Society, the coordinator of the High School Reading Bowl, a writer for the Literary Magazine, a winner of the President’s Volunteer Service Award for volunteering more than 100 hours, published in a local bookstore’s anthology, and CPR certified through the Science National Honor Society underscores my passion for creativity and academics.
I think that I should be chosen for Link Crew because I am always able to help out, give directions to lost freshmen, influence them in a positive manner, and be a kind upperclassman. I get good grades, I’m in all honors classes, I participate in a sport year round, inside and outside of school. I am involved in Calling all Colors here at Mona Shores High School, which is a group about tolerance and accepting other, and teaching others at our school how to make everyone feel equally welcome. I plan to keep in touch with my 9th graders by doing little things for them through the year, like dropping off little items to their classes; just like I was given as a freshman. I plan to say hello in the hallways and let them all know on August 31st, for freshman orientation that if they every have any questions, that I am easy to get ahold of.

From an early age I have always been interested in joining High Honor Society . Mainly because this group makes my rasamay look better for me to be able to get into a good college. But my reason for joining isn't just for a chance to get into a good college but also to improve my leadership skills, service skills, my character , and finally my future. My leadership skills are very accurate mainly because I love being a leader and taking a group of people and help them triumph. If im admitted into this group my leadership will improve.

I didn’t know any of the eighth grade ASB council members, in fact, I was intimidated by them. However, after attending more meetings and getting to know the council members, I was fascinated by what they do. It was at that moment I realized that I enjoyed being involved. I loved the feeling of knowing what was going on in our school, especially knowing before my other classmates. I liked reporting back to the class and announcing the upcoming activities and most importantly, I enjoyed being able to help out and contribute back to my school.

It was to this group that I first presented my plan for a Drinking and Driving Mock Crash. I first saw a presentation of a mock crash at June Jam and instantly knew that someday I wanted to create my own. My goal was to be able to share with the students at my school the feelings that I experienced when I first saw the mock crash presentation. After a lot of hard work and planning, the mock crash was performed in front of the Syracuse students and left them in tears. This led to me leading the planning for a high risk behavior assembly event the next year that had the same effect.
