The book Night is about a twelve-year-old boy that grew up in Transylvania which is a small town. Elie studied Talmud but he wanted to learn Kabbalah. His father found out that the Nazi got control over Hungary. The Nazi’s started to evacuate the Jews out of Transylvania, and started loading them all into the cattle cars.
During the Holocaust about 500,000 to 750,000 people were murdered due to their religion. Elie Wiesel was one of the people who survived this tragic event and wrote Night to bring attention and to inform about how it happened. The book Night is a nonfiction book about how Elie Wiesel lived in the town of Sighet as a child and was put into a concentration camp. He was put in a concentration camp because he is Jewish and was growing up during World War 2, when Hitler ordered the extermination of all Jewish people. This book is well written and fits all of my criteria for what makes a book worth reading.

While reading the book Night by Elie Wiesel, one of the things I learned about was the jews living conditions. I read about Elie living them with many other jews and it stuck out to me because how could a person live like that and stay alive? Every jew that was caught was sent to a concentration camp and had a total different way of lifestyle when being held there. Another thing that stuck out while reading the book was the SS officers. The SS officers are Hitler's protective unit.
In the memoir Night was written by Elie Wiesel in 1955, 10 years after the events happened. This book is about the Holocaust, there were about 4-6 million victims of the Holocaust. The Holocaust happened between the years 1933 and 1945. Elie was a survivor of the Holocaust and wrote this memoir of the tragic events that happened to him and other people. In the first three chapters of this story, Wiesel tells about the way his life was changed and he was dehumanized and left with nothing of his old life.

Night by Elie Wiesel is a memoir about Wiesel’s experience during the Holocaust. Weisel shares how it all started and talks about how his life changed drastically in a matter of a few years. He takes his readers with him on his long, haunting and treacherous journey of the Holocaust. He talks about the many different aspects of the Holocaust, such as the selection process, life in the ghetto’s, his loss of faith in God, and the ways that the people in the camps were treated. The inhumane things that occurred within this time are also talked about in Night.
---Rough Draft--- While we probably all know that the Holocaust was a horrible stain on the fabric of society, Elie Wiesel's book shows that the acts of the Nazi's are more horrible towards the Jews than some of us may have been led to believe. Elie originates from a town known as Sighet located in what was previously known as Transylvania. Though Sighet was not part of Germany or Hungary, they were still abused by the SS soldiers, by trapping them in fenced off ghettos. They also soon transported them in a terrible cattle car ride, and treated them like slaves. But the meat of the story takes place in the concentration camp(s), where they are given minimal amounts of food and judged like dogs to see if they are worth keeping.
Holocaust The website " The Holocaust; Facts and Figures" says how approximately 6 million Jews were killed during the holocaust and about 1.1 million Jews were Killed too. Hitler was the leader of the Germans. Hitler would tell the Germans to kill the Jews, they attacked Jews because the Nazis considered them a race, also because they thought Jews were the cause of losing world war I. The Nazis also wanted some land so they thought that by getting rid of the Jews they would be able to keep their land.
During World War ll, Germany, led by Adolf Hitler, created many extermination camps for Jews. These death camps had a major impact on European society, and the world. One of these death camps was the Belzec extermination camp. It was established in 1942. How the Belzec death camp was started, how it was run, and how it 's prisoners were exterminated all explain the brutal World War ll death camp of Belzec.
Nazi Death Marches During WWII, Hitler ordered for all Jews to be taken to work camps, where they were forced to work in with little to no food. Most of the time the Jews would be making stuff for the German army such as, tools or clothing. The Jews had to have a strong spirit, or they would perish. But, towards the end of the war American troops invaded Germany, finding the work camps. Afraid of the American troops finding the work camps; Hitler ordered all work camps to be evacuated to death camps deep in Germany.
The Holocaust was a horrific tragedy which started in January of 1933 and ended in May of 1945, the Holocaust was the mass murder of millions of people. The word was derived from the Greek word that meant Sacrifice to the Gods (Steele 7), also called the Shoan which is the Hebrew word for catastrophe (Steele 7). So many countries took place in this 12-year genocide, including, “Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria, which were also known as the Axis Powers” (Steele 34). But, although there were all those countries they were all part of one larger group called the Nazis, were the ones who were killing all the different denominations of people. (Bachrach 58).
Daily Life at Concentration Camps Starving, cold, unclothed, sick, and hard working people were all put in concentration camps and treated horribly. The Jewish workers worked hard all day everyday or else they would get killed. The way the Nazi’s treated the Jews was extremely bad, the Jews would not get food, clothes, beds, and other necessities. There were all types of camps that had all kinds of jobs, you were assigned a job and didn 't get to pick a job. The Jews had a very compact schedule, they were busy all day, never any time to waste.
