A hero is someone who puts others before themselves. Heroic acts can range from small gestures to saving countless lives. Almost anyone can be a hero. Heroes are known for their outstanding achievements and bravery. Chesley Sullenberger is a hero because he is brave, selfless, and saved the lives of many people. Chesley Sullenberger spent many years of his life trying to find ways to help people and on January 15, 2009 he did just that. Chesley Sullenberger is a former U.S. Airways pilot who was born in Denison, Texas on January 23, 1951. He enrolled in the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1969.
