Jazz Jennings Heroes are people who stand for what they believe in. A hero is someone who is selfless, thinks of others before themselves, and has made a significant impact. Most heroes believe that the world can always be changed for the better. An example of a great hero is Jazz Jennings, one of the youngest transgender girls who is strong and proud of who she is. Jazz is 16 years old today and lives in South Flordia. The life of a hero isn’t always easy, especially for Jazz, but she doesn’t let that bother her. Jazz was born a male on October 6, 2000, in South Florida. Jazz is a transgender teenager who has known she was a girl ever since she could speak. She is also an American Youtuber with over 33,000 subscribers, a spokesmodel, an LGBTQ rights activist. This hero rose up from the rock bottom and makes a difference in many lives everyday. In 2013, Jazz started Purple Tails, a company that makes rubber mermaid tails and sells them for transgender youth, and she is also the co-founder of Transkids Purple Rainbow Foundation which also assists transgender youth. One CNN article stated, “‘I’ve always known exactly who I am. I was a girl trapped in a boy’s body,‘Jazz said in the video, which encourages teens to be your true self”’ (Grinberg). Jazz fought a battle with the United States Soccer Federation to allow Jazz to play on the girls’ soccer team, and two and a half years later she succeeded. After what Jazz has been through and what she is going through, she continues to be positive in many ways. She never gives up and is beautiful inside and out. She is so inspiring and continues to be kind, joyful and just amazing. She makes a difference in people 's everyday lives and without her, many people wouldn’t be where they are today. She has taught teens to stay positive and have a better attitude on
