In the 20th century modern management emanated due to the rise and growth of western industrial capitalism. With the modernisation of management also came its 3 fundamentals and further along the 20th century it influenced people such as Frederick Taylor and Henry Ford. This essay looks at the doctrines of modern management and how Taylor and Ford innovated upon the idea using different techniques.

When Taylor would reform work structures and systematize it around the existing apparatus Ford would disregard labour with new equipment which set the pace for the work to be done this also brought up, the argument that they were deskilling the workers, but Critics saw that both Taylor and Ford ignored the psychosomatic needs/capabilities of workers. Mutually, ford and Taylor saw the best way of doing a job was elected with a mechanical measure of rapidity and productivity. With their differences in work design both entrepreneurs had similar compassion towards compensating workers. When Fords productivity increased along with his income, he raised the worker’s salary from 2.50 dollars a day to 5 dollars a day. Taylor had that similar beliefs that both management and workers would be rewarded when the company was performing good but his perception was quite naïve as some critics stated due to the fact that, management also dictated the salary.
