“What a beautiful girl.” I imagine my great-grandmother saying. Muna, my mother, was born on the 29th of April in the year 1968 in the city of Bern, Switzerland. Born to the Saudi ambassador to Switzerland, Habib Shaheen, and Housewife Eliana Salvi-Shaheen. Muna grew up with two younger brothers and one sister, Muna being the eldest. Then came along my uncle Hisham, my aunt Rima, and the youngest, Tarique. My grandfather tried his best to keep all his children happy and safe, and he succeeded. Muna lived in a very happy environment, surrounded by my great grandparents, Nono, and Nana. As I said before, my grandpa Habib is an ambassador (He and his family) had to move from country to country on several occasions.
Muna lived her life up to Middle school in the City of Vienna, Virginia, USA. She excelled in Kilmer Junior High with the best of marks in all sciences and liberal arts. Biology was her favorite subject; She was the first one in her family to enjoy biology. Muna was somewhat of an open-minded-introvert. She had lots of friends but in a sense, enjoyed being alone. Her weekends were often used for self-study and rarely ever used for fun and going

Muna started going out a lot to meet fashion designers from all around the globe mostly in fashion shows and ateliers. She did not like the people she met, as she usually would quote “They were plastic and fake.” She graduated from university with a Bachelor’s of Art in Fashion Design degree. Muna started out her career life very slowly and was very unsuccessful at first. Fashion Design was a very difficult field to gain fame and excel in; Muna knew that, but it never stopped her from becoming one of the best fashion designers I ever got to know. She competed in lots of Fashion Design competitions including The Arlington Art Exhibition and winning first place for textile design as her style and aesthetic was very fashion-forward and
She also was the kind of person who kept her emotions hidden for fear of revealing weakness, but she also was a sensitive woman with a deep concern for the weak and defenseless. Philip Zimbardo, a professor at Stanford University once stated, “One in five—20 percent—qualify as heroes”. Heroes are extraordinary and rare, communities can decide who a hero is based on their actions, because people’s opinions are different. It is often up for debate if someone is a hero or not. In The Outsiders, written by S.E. Hinton, people take the side of the person they think is the hero. However, even through all the counterarguments, Johnny Cade is the only character in the novel who displays both the heroic traits of resilience and self-sacrifice.
Sacrifice The Hero’s Journey is a path of transformation, growth, and sacrifice, as defined by Joseph Campbell, in the article The Power of Myth, by Bill Moyers. Heroes, as defined by Campbell, must sacrifice something to save someone, or support something. “The hero sacrifices himself for something - that’s the reality of it...” (Moyers 2).

Mr. A Recinto English 12 1B 18 November 2015 Epic Hero Do you have an epic hero or think anyone is a hero? Well, I think that Penelope is an epic hero. For me Penelope is an epic hero because of everything she did for people in Greek.
Hero’s Journey can be implicated at life because people have all these adventures that they do not plan out. If someone choses to do something with their life and make them matter to people then they will most likely experience all parts of Hero’s Journey. “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” (Campbell) These are wise words spoken by Joseph Campbell.
“If you can tell me who your heroes are, I can tell you how you are going to turn out. It is really important to have the right heroes.” – Warren Buffet. Many people are looking for heroes in wrong places, and misunderstanding the term hero itself. Strength, bravery, courage, and honesty are the things most people think when the name hero pops.
You may define a hero as someone with supernatural capabilities. Superman is a hero; he can fly, see through walls, and lift things with ease. You may define a hero as someone strong in your family that works as a firefighter or a police officer. The dictionary definition of a hero would be a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities (Merriam-Webster Dictionary). A hero to me has two meanings.
When people think of a hero, a tall buff male with supernatural strength who beats up villains comes to mind. But not all heroes are like that. Superman, Mahatma Gandhi, Veronika Scott, and Ponyboy Curtis are all heroes. Superman is the only hero that fits that category. Superman is an archetypical hero, a hero in books and movies that fights villains with supernatural powers.
