Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. In the novel “The Wednesday Wars” by Gary D. Schmidt, Mrs. Bigio’s attitude toward the vietnamese student Mai Thi evolved through this chapter. I think this is because Mai Thi had saved the day. Sycorax and Caliban had been running all over everywhere that day. It all started when Mr. Venderli was cleaning out the ceiling with a bunch of crap falling out of it.
Whether kind, happy, loving, there are emotions in the minds of people living and existing around us. You can find them anywhere. Right next to someone, someone might be crying because they are sad. Those are all different kinds of emotions. Like robots or cars can’t have emotions because they are not a living thing, emotions can be very weak sometimes but also can be your strong weapon.
Being a human is very unique. The television show Grey's Anatomy is a great example of human experiences. Some of these examples include life and deaths, emotions, and personal growth. The show is a perfect example of for those three things. These examples happen to everyone and each person goes through them at one point in their life.
1. Feelings are the sensations we get in any parts of our body. These sensations can be body sensations such as touch or cold whereas emotions are our reactions or outward behavior towards various things that happen to us. They are short-lived feelings that originate from recognized sources (Lombardo, n.d.). Suppose I work in a factory and got burnt by acid at work today, I would instantly feel pain but after a while become angry as a reaction to the pain from the acid burn.
Most people say they know how to describe emotions. They feel them all day long, but most know not the scientific definition which states, “emotions are a neural impulse that moves an organism to action”. So technically emotions control most of an organism's actions. Some people hide their emotions or choose to not take actions . In the Herman Hesse’s book, Siddhartha, the main character, Siddhartha, expresses many emotions.
Emotions are what propel you forward to reach your goal, but what also stop you from breaking your limits. They are what weigh into our decisions and help lead us to the choices we forever live with. Not only can they determine what we do, but also when and how we do it. At times they are stronger than others, pulling us forward or throwing us back as if we have absolutely no control. Just like in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the entire lives of two teenagers led by the emotions that they couldn’t ignore.
Anchit Mishra Ms. Kanika Dang English Term-2 Paper 10 November 2015 Morality as Depicted in Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner Humans are often known to differentiate their actions into two major parts— Right and Wrong. However, since there exists no universal definition of these words, and the human condition relates morality heavily with emotions, how is one to know which is which? The brief answer to this is:— There is no answer. In this human world, where most of our actions are governed by emotional impulses, it is not possible for a binary segregation of right and wrong to take place, without leading to conflict.
Communication and Perception In psychology, perception is understood as the process by which a person acquires information from his surroundings or environment and his ability to understand it (Stanford University, 2006). Perception makes use of the senses to experience things but it is the interpretation that really defines a person’s perception. In other words, perception is how people make sense of the things they see, feel and heard. For instance, the common adage that says, ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder,’ holds true because people have different perceptions when it comes to what is beautiful and what is not.
Emotion is one of the unique qualities that make us human. Emotion is used to create, monitor, and preserve social bonds, and also an important element in conflict, social movements, and social change. Arlie Hochschild created the term ‘emotional labor’ in 1983, which refers to the process by which workers are expected to manage their feelings in accordance with organizationally defined rules and guidelines. When engaging in emotional labor, you control your feelings to fulfill the goals and expectations of your organization. This means that you either express only your positive feelings, or hide or manage your negative feelings.
Emotion is the force of life, it is why we do the things we do, it is the force that pushes us forward or freeze in place when least wanted. Emotions have a huge effect on people. They are present throughout our lives and influence our decisions daily. They can provide information about your circumstances in a quick way that does not involve a lot of thinking. So they can be a really valuable way of knowing.
However, in some cases the color can imply emotions that bring confusion. This is the confusion from our society experiences and in text. In many pieces of literature, the writer uses the color grey. This color grey shows the confusion multiple characters have in their daily travels. As they continue their journey, they learn something new and become who they are.
