This war broke my heart. Seeing them as prosperous city, now everything was fallen apart. Knowing them dying because of terrorist bombing everywhere and also they also kidnapped Maranaos to be their slaves. According to GMA news report, Maute group kidnapped many civilians, many of them are teenagers and also younger than teenager and they are force to be married with them. They also force the boys to be part of them, to fight with them. This will help to strengthen their group. I feel bad to the Maute group who begin the war. According also to GMA news report, they are not just a Filipino residents, they also have a backup from another country like Indonesians and Malaysians. I feel dissapointed for them because they blinded themselves by money and power. They became slave by their own eagerness to be most powerful and to own a huge land. They are aiming for a thing that can make them bad. It is not good to abuse your power. It is not good to aim for excessive power because it can make you worst person. Many innocent people died and most of them are innocent people. May properties and infrastructures broke because of non stop bombing and
Since, they were not experienced or fully prepared to deal with the needs of the victims after the bombing they had to learn new ideas along the way. The Federal Government decided that four main ideas needed to be considered after researching the events after the bombing. The first, is that the crisis must be dealt with. Regardless of how hard the scenario seems we must pull together and help the people.
The main cause for all of the destruction was a rented out Ryder’s moving truck filled with hundreds of homemade pipe and gasoline tank bombs, with the help of Timothy McVeigh and Michael Fortier filling the back of the truck with many of the deadly homemade bombs, Timothy McVeigh then drove the armed and very deadly truck outside to the back of a United States federal building, and then detonated the truck. it destroyed half the building, the whole north side of the federal building was destroyed. The bombing left a sixteen block radius of destruction, over 300 hundred buildings were damaged including the Journal Record building five blocks away. A side from the few commercial buildings that were destroyed, there was also a day care which had been filled with 21 kids ranging from the ages of two to five years of age. Out of those 21 kids, 19 of them were killed by the deadly bomb the other kids were hurt.
The damage in 9/11 was about 10 billion in property and the New york Fire Department suffered because of
The theme of power is displayed multiple times throughout the book. The whole purpose of the book was to talk about the assassins and the assassination of the presidents. The main reason why the assasins kill the presidents is for power. “I am only slightly astonished by the egotism of the assasins, the inflated self-esteem it requires to kill a president, that I am astonished by the men who run for president. These are people who have the gall to believe they can fix us-us and our deficit, our fossil fuels, our racism, poverty, our potholes and public schools.
If you are reading your history book, a play, or even watching the news today, you will see how people abuse the power that they have over somethings. There have been many leaders and people who abuse their power over civilization and places. Even the littlest taste of power often leads them to corruption. Many times, citizens and adversaries riot over some of the things that they disagree on and, in some cases, murder comes in to play.

With injustice and cruelty running rampant in the world, it is unsurprising that people become determined to make things better for tomorrow. The cliché saying that the ends justify the means is often quoted by those aware of the moral greyness of their actions. Commendable yet unreasonable, leaders whose sole purpose in life is to fix what they see as “wrong” with the world fall prey to thinking there is only ally or enemy. In the long run, they harm those they try to liberate.
The lust for power, the greed behind every person, leads them to choose power over cause, stripping them of moral in exchange for a greater state of being.
Once someone has had a taste of power, they will do everything possible to hold onto it. Throughout Hosseini’s novel, characters gain and lose power. They also abuse power, whether through friendship or fear. They manipulate the powerless to stay in their position. In Khaled Hosseini’s
As a tv reporter who has traveled worldwide, I believe that the photograph “The Napalm Girl” published in the New York Times on June 9th 1972 expresses the reality on what is happening during wars to children. With this letter, I would like to express my deep concerns that this picture should be known globally to spread awareness of the human capacity of atrocity. I understand that this type of picture may shock some people. However, I think that looking at this type of photograph is the only way to inform people of the conditions of some young children. “The Napalm Girl” is a worldwide known emotional photograph taken by Nick Ut on June 8th 1972.
I think that everyone wants power in someway and everyone goes about getting that power differently. To feel like one has power they might yell, push, hit, or cause someone or something pain is someway, or they might want to boss someone around. Often the desire for power brings out and ugly side in people as we saw in Lord of The Flies. When someone has power over you and uses their power in an ugly way it causes us to have an even bigger hunger for
Most people question, “ How does the quest of power cause people to act? ”. Over the years the question has been proved to cause people to act differently. Not just in history but in many movies, plays, books, and even in current events today. The quest of power drives people to do things out of their character.
Wangari Maathai grew up being taught to love the environment and respect the fig tree. Which in her elders called the “Tree of God”. She did and like the roots of the fig tree she describes in her memoir unbowed. she was given a fertile environment to grow. Where there was no reason to fear or to have uncertainty.
Power can have the persuasive action in undoing the moral ethics of one’s character. This can be seen throughout history, such as World War II and proven by the actions of Napoleon in the allegory, Animal Farm, by George Orwell. As Lord Acton said “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” In history what was viewed as a villain, is never the same as the perception. A leader does not begin wanting to do wrong, they start with the best intentions, but power is a tricky thing.
