Throughout history and in battles you see that the shield was a personal shield used to protect and stop weapons that were thrown at soldiers during battle. The shields back then varied in size, ranging from large shields that protect the soldier’s entire body to small shields that are mostly for use in hand-to-hand combats to prevent weapons reaching their bodies. These shields guarded and kept these weapons from wounding or killing soldiers. These shields were the protection of the soldiers to prevent from being defeated.
The shield of Faith is used a spiritual battle. It is a weapon that protects us as soldiers of Yahweh against any attacks of the adversary. This is made clear to us in Ephesians 6:16 where it says: "Above all, taking

In general, faith is trusting that Yahweh is who He says He is, and that He will protect His children in the spiritual battle. Having the shild of faith means that no matter what, Yahweh’s hand is in every situation and He will work it out on your behalf. In order to fight the “good fight of faith” scipture tells us in I Timothy 6:12: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” Yahweh’s word tells us to fight the good fight of faith. We are called to be spiritual warriors in Yahweh’s kingdom. We are soldiers in the Army of Yahweh. In order to fight this good fight of faith we must know our oppressor, our adversary and its …show more content…
His purpose is for us to walk as children of the light in a dark world, and declare the word of Yahweh wherever our feet tread. We have been called to fulfill the great commission as ambassadors for Yeshua. Romans 8:28-30 says: “And we know that in all things Yahweh works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those Yahweh foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also
Typically for those who practice religion, it is easy to convince yourself that God is watching over you when all is well. The challenge however comes when all is lost. Thoughts of ,”How could God let this happen if he is a loving God?”, and “Why my people out of the billions of people on this earth?” come to mind and really make you ponder whether your faith matters. Many men lost their faith and then proceeded to lose their lives. Namely the ,”Poor Akiba Drumer, if only he could have kept his faith in God, if only he could have considered this suffering a divine test, he would not have been swept away by the selection.
“It isn't fair how I doubt him, and I wonder if he'll ever gather that my loss of faith extends further than I'd ever known it would, severing lines of trust and leveling my confidence like a city-flattening tornado.” “(Webber).” This quote by Tammara Webber shows that no matter how much faith you have before in some situations it may go away in an instant making you not only wonder just how much faith did you lose and the lines of trust that was broken, but also how much you now doubt your god making you slowly grow as a new person gaining confidence as you start to go through more and more soul crushing hardships that make you think at what cost. Hard experiences that make you do and believe things you never thought you would of in your
Faith influences everyone; whether it be faith in a god, a person, or one's own self, faith is ever present. It is one of the most powerful things in all of history; it migrated thousands of people, killed millions, and influences laws in every society. During World War II, the Nazi party of Germany killed up to 6 million people of the Jewish religion. Some of these Jews maintained their faith while they were being killed, some started to break from it, and many lost it completely. If their god was the reason they were being persecuted, how could they have faith in him?
Faith is a powerful belief that not many people have and only in hard times is it at its strongest. With Corrie's faith in God she wanted to help all of the Jews that were hiding away from the Germans. That's because during World War 2, all of the Germans had a hatred towards the Jews and would try to kill them. So Corrie and her family did what they believed was right by helping them even though it was prohibited to help them and could lead to death if caught. In the Hiding Place, Corrie Ten Boom portrays through the characters that having faith in God in times of suffering will give a person the strength needed to survive.
(Genesis 1:26-30). Just like Adam we are all capable of doing God’s will but we must also live by faith and obedience and I think that’s our purpose (Genesis 2:15, 17).
In the novel, Night by Elie Wiesel, Eliezer, the narrator, had troubles with his faith. He started working in the concentration camp with a full belief in God and his religion, being Jewish. He truly trusted that God, itself, was definite and he knew he couldn’t live without having God in his faith as the strongest power. Yet, this optimism only lasted until the Holocaust began to worsen. His faith had taught him that God is everywhere in the world and that His divinity touched every aspect of his life.
For example, when they were hiding Jews in their home, they knew that if they were caught, they would be punished severely. However, their belief in God's command to love their neighbors as themselves outweighed their fear of punishment. They felt that it was their duty to help those in need, regardless of the risks. This is a powerful example of how faith can influence actions.
He assesses our desires and our weaknesses. He feeds on our fears and our insecurities. When he has studied us long enough to have learned the chinks in our armor, he attacks. Faith untested is simply an idea.
Having faith and displaying it can a long way in times of
Faith being a name and also a strong belief in something. While reading the story some people may question Faiths character, wondering if she is actually a person or if when they say Faith they are only referring to Goodman’s belief in God. As Goodman Brown is leaving and him and Faith are saying their goodbyes he tells her that she cannot give up that he will be back. He tells her not to lose her Faith in him. On Goodman Brown’s trip through the woods he realizes that he cannot lose his faith or it is likely that he may not return home to his Faith.
It involves recognizing the separation of temptation and being prepared to face it. In summary, there are two aspects in spiritual warfare which are the offensive and defensive ones. For the offensive part, demons are being casted out as shown in the passages in Mark and Acts. The deliverance ministry in the church practice this aspect.
Faith is formed in trusting in what you may not see. The message that Moses and many others bring to the new testament is walking to the unknown with complete confidence that God will guide your steps when you walk in obedience to His word. Hebrews 11 says that “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see”. Moses had a lot of hopes, he hoped to be reunited with his family, he hoped to see the hebrew people saved, and he hoped that he would help people know of his God.
That faith alone saves us. However, what James says in James 2:24, " So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone,” hints to works saving us along with faith, but there is no contradiction. Context tells it all, let us check it out. James chapter two has 26 verses in all with 2:1-7 telling us not to be a favorite picker, 2:8-13 commenting on the Law of Moses, and 2:14-26 about the relationship between faith
Faith is anchored by total trust upon the word of God since his word can’t fail, when you wait to be “assured” and be “certain” rather than trust the word of God, you have closed door to faith and wallowing at Satan domain. This is doubting the word of God. The book of proverbs 3:5 says: Trust the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. “Own understanding” is based upon logic hence dethroning faith and trust in God.
1) Regeneration - If faith is produced by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:8), then this must be the case of Old Testament saints (Hebrews 11) who looked ahead to the cross, believing that what God had promised in regard to their redemption would come to pass. 2) Indwelling (or filling) - Here is where the major difference between the Spirit’s roles in the Old and New Testaments is apparent. So, while in the New Testament the Spirit only indwells believers and that indwelling is permanent (1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:19-20), in contrast to this work in the New Testament, the indwelling in the Old Testament was selective and temporary. The Spirit “came upon” such Old Testament people as Joshua (Numbers 27:18), David (1 Samuel
