During the natural disaster unit, our class watched "I am Legend," Armageddon, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow, and Independence Day. Each movie with its own form of world ending threats. In The Day After Tomorrow, global warming causes a major climate shift which results in many natural disasters and eventually a new Ice Age. I believe this is the most realistic way the earth could come to an end.
Jack Hall, a paleoclimatologist, discovers that global warming is pushing the world into a new Ice Age. He believes that it could happen 100 to 1,000 years from now, until just days after his discovery, his theory is proven to be true only it is happening now. All the while, Jack's son, Sam, has been trapped in New York City due the weather and

So he agrees to take some vacation time. He takes himself and his family on a vacation or family camp c called patterville Up north. Where families and people can pretend the world isn’t going to hell. There all happy going swimming, hiking going to the beach meeting new people. But jack just couldn’t help but feel uneasy thinking it
When Jack is first talking about the ship he explains, “For Jack, the ship is the edge of the world, and it has sat there, on the lip of his knowledge, for as long as he can remember” (535). This is very important to think of when Jack finally goes out to the ship. It is explained that he believed this was the end of the world this was the most he really thought of in the world. When he goes out to the ship this can be seen as him broadening his horizons and learning new things about the world, in other words maturing. He walks to the ship and doesn’t see what he was expecting, “The inside of the ship is black, swollen with dark water.
He just knows that he needs to get home. So, without anything but a sleeping bag, the clothes on his back, and a elephant figurine, Jack has to navigate the roads and hide from the things he is afraid of, all while finding his mother. I absolutely loved this book. Sometimes while reading, I just could not put the book down. I would frequently stay up late reading, and my parents would get frustrated with me.
A new world that we were not designed to live in. In a way you can think of it as Earth slowly dying and witnessing and feeling everything as it happens. Eventually we would have to adapt to finish our lives out in this new world, which we are not prepared to do. As a potential environmental science major I am highly motivated by this serious topic. As you can tell
When large storms hit land with these increased sea levels it causes large storm surges that can destroy anything in its paths. If temperatures continue to rise other natural disasters could occur ("Global Warming Will Produce More Katrina-Like Storms"). A warmer wetter atmosphere could spawn more tropical storms and there will be floods in places that do not get much rainfall. Humans could prevent these problems if they were to cut down on the use of fossil fuels and use more renewable energy. Renewable energy consists of wind, solar, and lunar power.
Have you ever tried predicting how the world is going to end in the future? Have you ever tried imagining how everything is going to dissolve to chaos, death and catastrophe? The “end” is a hypothetical future occurence viewed narrowly as the destruction of human race as a result of cataclysm. Predictions on the end of the world is a supposition assumed by many that often arise from religion, science and psychic judgements.
What is global warming? Global Warming is the increase of Earth 's normal surface temperature due to impact of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide radiations from lighting fossil fuels or from the removal of trees which lure heat that would otherwise get away from Earth. This is a kind of greenhouse impact. Global warming is the determined and relieved increases in the mean temperature of Earth atmosphere and oceans.
Consequences of global warming Global warming is causing the glaciers to melt specially in rise in sea level would destroy the plants and other species as the area would get over-flooded. The animals would die from hunger due to the deterioration of forests and plants. Ultimately the people who have survived the flood and heat would suffer at the hands of hunger as the only two sources of food we have would get destroyed due to global warming.
Future Event Number Eleven: Armageddon Will Take Place Armageddon, in end-time terms, is about the most misunderstood event that will take place at the end of our age. Everyone who has commented on this critical event seems to have his own peculiar spin, and few people seem to have a rational, unbiased interpretation on Armageddon. Armageddon is, at the end of the day, an event revealed by God to his prophets, so that believers can be ready should this event take place during their lifetime. There is quite a lot of confusion and obfuscation surrounding Armageddon. You have to be very careful not to allow people with axes to grind, or who just do not understand prophecy, to mislead you.
Now another natural cause of global warming is the rising of the seas. The biggest reason for sea level rising is that global warming is causing the air to be warmer and that 's causing glaciers and ice-caps to melt. Sea level rise would affect about 11 out of the 15 biggest cities in the world. The reason this is happening because gases are being released into the atmosphere which is causing the temperatures to rise, which causes the seas to rise. Sea level rising means more money that we have to spend for people living on the coastlines because coastal populations are growing and people are crowding into coastal areas and that area could be underwater in a few years if sea levels keep rising how they have been.
We are living in currently in the Holocene era. As we observe the planet around us many of us noticed plants and animals are endangered at an amazingly fast rate. The result of the mass extinction is fortunately not going to be Metroid or volcanic activity. Unfortunately, the cause is most likely to be climate change due to all the humans activities currently happening, for example, all the fossil fuels we are burning like coal, oil, and gas. All these extra fumes build up in the air building up greenhouse gases, therefore the earth's surface temperature begins to rise.
