The leaves of Vitex negundo, Emblica officinalis and Tridax procumbens were collected from Kem village, Solapur district of Maharashtra during Monsoon season. The herbarium was made and authentication was done from Botanical Survey of India under the code TAY3.BSI/WRC/Tech/2011.The voucher herbarium specimen was submitted to the APT Research Foundation, Pune, India. The preliminary phytochemical screening of Vitex negundo, Emblica officinalis and Tridax procumbens showed the presence of different organic elements which are shown in Table 1. Saponins were absent in the aqueous extract of Vitex negundo whearas present in ethanolic extract, Also Alkaloid, Carbohydrate, Flavonoids, Tannins, Phenols, Saponins and Phytosterol were present …show more content…
In the present study, the total tannin content was estimated and represented in the figure 16. The total tannin content was estimated by comparing with standard curve of Catechin.(Figure 15) It was found that the aqueous extract of Vitex negundo contained 278.6 ± 3.8 mg/gm and ethanolic extract contained 230.9 ± 1.3 mg/gm. Whereas, aqueous extract of Emblica officinalis contained 311.9 ± 5.2 mg/gm and ethanolic extract contained 286.1±6.3 mg/gm. The aqueous extract of Tridax procumbens contained 246.9 ± 2.9 and ethanolic extraccontained 253.6 ± 3.8. The aqueous extract formulation of three plants contained 366.9 ± 1.4 and ethanolic extract contained 359.9 ± 0.5 dried extract equivalent to Standard Catechin (Table 4) [R 2 value 0.992]Aqueous as well as ethanolic extracts of Vitex negundo leaves, Emblica officinalis bark and Tridax procumbens plant for its free radical scavenging and antioxidant property were screened by using ABTS assay. Aqueous and ethanolic extracts were found to scavenge the superoxides generated by photoreduction of riboflavin in dose dependent manner. The …show more content…
The aqueous extract of VN and EO showed a significant reduction in the paw edema volume upto 2 hrs after Carrageenan injection. While ethanolic extract showed comparatively much less activity (Figure 18 and Figure 19). Aqueous extract of TP was more effective than ethanolic extract. Both the extracts had showed significant anti-inflammatory activity (Figure 20). The formulation made up of the aqueous extracts of three plants also showed significant reduction of the paw volume which is quite similar to the standard drug Indomethacin (10 mg/kg) treated group up to 2 hrs. (Figure 21)Whereas formulation made up oThe effect of wound healing activities of the plant extracts were evaluated in incision wound model and in terms of skin breaking strength and converted to tensile strength as given in Table 13. Control group, standard drug and test extract treated groups were then compared statistically. The aqueous extract of VN showed 41.0 gm/mm 2 and EO 42.3 gm/mm 2 of tensile strength, and found to be statistically significant (P<0.05) when compared with the control. Standard drug treated groups showed 31.0 ± 5.6 and 39.7 ± 3.7 gm/mm 2 of tensile strength. While, ethanolic extract of TP showed 41.7 ± 9.2 g/mm
Cabeza de Vaca attitude towards the new world was that of suffering and starvation. During his travels, he ate very little, mostly deer-tallow and at one point powdered straw. They did not eat during the day and ate very little at night. Cabeza de Vaca and his men grew very tired and hungry, but could not let the Native Americans see this suffering because they were upholding their authority over them. Cabeza de Vaca’s description of the terrain in some parts differed greatly from that of Columbus in that Columbus stated that the terrain he saw was rich lush lands with warm air and year round green
A new oral pharmaceutical drug for type- two diabetes had been approved for clinical use, it was called Compound 17392. Marketing companies instantly wanted to have prescribers adopt and sell the product and researchers wanted to further investigate previous reports of liver toxicity in patients. Now since paying patients to try new pharmaceutical drugs was an issue due to it appearing to interfere with clinical judgement and upholding the duty to do what is best for the patient, a new idea of furthering research for the drug came into play. The idea included recruiting a group of physicians who were in the top ten percent of prescribers for type-two diabetes. Following regulations put in place by researchers, these physicians were to enter eligible patients into the trial for Compound
The travels of Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca was born around 1490 in a small Spanish town called Jerez. He was believed to have grown up with his grandparents, because his parent died when he was young. Cabeza de Vaca left Spain for the Americas in June 1527. In April 1528, the ship's captain, Narváez, landed near present-day Tampa Bay, Florida with his large army of soldiers and settlers. Even with shortages of food, the Spanish made its way first north and then west along the southern coast of Florida to the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s panhandle.

The History and Science of Healing With Essential Oils Did you know that at least 30% of prescription drugs in the United States are based on naturally occurring compounds from plants? Each year, millions of dollars are spent searching for new, undiscovered, curative elements in the bark, roots, flowers, seeds and foliage of plants from every corner of the Earth. As the most powerful part of the plant, essential oils and plant extracts have been mankind 's first medicine. History has shown and science supports that these can be used medicinally to kill bacteria and viruses.
In his work “The Underdogs”, Mariano Azuela is able to master the spirit of villismo regarding both its theoretic, underlying principles as well as the movement’s subsequent physical manifestations. Though significant characters conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the humble agrarian spirit central to villismo’s origin, characters in this text also exhibit the disruptive, callous behavior that is more characteristic of the federalist forces and dictatorships they aimed to unseat. Moreover, Demetrio’s degenerating understanding of the reason he’s fighting, coupled with his few instances of immorality, symbolizes the collapse of villismo morality into its culminating bandit-ridden reality. Cowboys, farmers, and other agrarian people suffering from land and labor oppression united together as the diverse “pieces of a great social movement [to] exalt their motherland” . Demetrio and Solis embody this original character of villismo revolution, as they maintain a moral, humanitarian compass throughout the novel.
Saint paper: Our lady of Guadalupe The Virgin of Guadalupe is the patron saint of Mexico. On December 9, 1531, the Lady of Guadalupe appeared to an Aztec Indian whom had just converted to the Catholic Faith, his name is Juan Diego. Mary asked Juan Diego to tell the Bishop to build a church in the location she needed it to be built. Juan Diego carried the news to the Bishop, but the Bishop wanted proof that the message he was brought was directly from the Lady of Guadalupe herself. Juan Diego went back and told her what the Bishop had asked for.

The legend of the Virgen de Guadalupe has become a common symbol of hope to many incoming immigrants of Latin American countries. Due to U.S. governmental and economic interventions in Latin American countries, it has caused many people to migrate as refuges and flee unstable environments. These mass migrations have been followed by torturous trails and stories that many times end in death or abuse, however, other times it has allowed refugees to move away and live stable lives in the U.S. However, once in the U.S., these immigrants are faced with discriminatory policy based on false accusations that makes their lives unsafe and unprotected. Therefore, Latinx religious faith becomes a strong component of community for these groups.

Moreover, in 1537, another Spanish explorer known as Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca, wrote a book titled La Relación, where he explained the obstacles him and his crew had to face during the Narvaez expedition in 1527 to the Spanish King, Charles I. In connection to all the men who sailed “from Cuba to Tampa Bay in present-day Florida” only “Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca and three other men survived the expedition, but only after enduring a nine-year, six-hundred-mile trek across Texas and Mexico and enslavement by Indians…….” In my opinion, this letter gives the reader a much clearer understanding of the things that Cabeza de Vaca saw during his journey because he writes his letters using words like “my”, “I”, and “me” which makes it clear to us
Research question What is the effect of temperature Amylase activity? Word count-1453 Background research Enzymes are biological catalysts that speed up a chemical reactions. They do this by decreasing the activation energy(the energy needed to start the reaction) of a chemical reaction. The enzyme present in our saliva is called Amylase. Amylase increases the rate of reaction by decreasing the activation energy needed to hydrolyse the starch molecules.
