When comparing Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson’s stance on foreign and domestic policies, there are similarities and differences. One iconic phrase we associate with Roosevelt, “speak softly and carry a big stick,” justly depicts his stance on foreign policy. Roosevelt sought after prestige for America, desiring to stand out among the nations in power and strength. At times, Roosevelt’s foreign pursuit was aggressive and resulted in conflict such as the Spanish-American War, and resistance to Roosevelt’s Corollary. But it did lead to advances of the construction of the Panama Canal, and the absorption of power over the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Guam, Cuba and Hawaii.

The best way to describe Theodore Roosevelt is an “Original”, a man like no other helping shape and influence American history for the better. Mostly known for serving two terms as president and being one of the youngest president’s to serve in history, but he was more than that. What made Theodore Roosevelt special was that he believed in peace but just because he wanted peace did not mean he would be a coward and be bullied by others. He has even won a noble peace prize for helping end the Russo-Japanese war. Being one of the few faces found on Mount Rushmore he has earned his right to be remembered throughout history.

The Assassination of President William McKinley William McKinley was the 25th President of the United States, he did many things people agreed with such as leading us to victory in the Spanish- American war, raising protective tariffs to promote american industry and he also urged the annexation of Hawaii which proved to be a smart move for the U.S. Unfortunately not everyone agreed with his views and what he had done as a president and he was shot twice on September 6, 1901 while at the Pan-American Exhibition in Buffalo, New York by 28-year old anarchist Leon Czolgosz. A few, but not many may say that his assassination was justified but I believe it was extremely unjustified.
The United States changes during Roosevelt’s presidency by unemployment rate, entertainment, and Technology. Roosevelt was the president during the Great Depression which took place from around 1930 to 1940. Roosevelt served 3 full terms and had died in his fourth he was president from 1933-1945. America was a horrible place when FDR had entered but, when he had died it was a whole new place. America was a place where the rich kept getting richer and the poor getting poorer, If you had lost your job it was nearly impossible to find another one.
One’s name does not go down in history for not trying; it goes down in history for great achievement, or great failure. Whether one fails or achieves, if the greatest effort was given, one is great. This much can hardly be said about many. Too many people go about their lives giving a minimal effort with the hopes of skirting by the assigned or desired task. Whether they are aware of it or not, it is they who are suffering from this half hearted effort.
Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt was born in October 27, 1858. He was a writer, naturalist, and a soldier. He was one of the 4 children born into his family. As a child, he was educated by private tutors. Unfortunately, from young age he suffered from severe asthma and weak eyesight.
Theodore “Teddy (or Ted)” Roosevelt came home a war hero, and because of that, was greatly accepted as a political figure. He then ran for vice president, and won. During his term as vice president, presiding president William McKinley was assassinated. Senator ALbert J. Beveridge thought the United States should expand wherever they could.

Roosevelt believed that the President had the right to use all power unless they were denied to him. Roosevelt’s presidency opened up creativity of progressive movement, lending the prestige of the White House to welfare legislation, government regulation, and the conservation movement.
Theodore Roosevelt’s speech, Strength and Decency, included a variety of rhetorical strategies that allowed him to persuade educated, mature, and, strong men to become powerful and decent human beings. Roosevelt’s purpose of presenting this speech was to persuade the audience to behave like the strong men they are but with decency and manners because, in the 1900s, men behaved in a very manly fashion. However, men lacked manners and morality. Due to the very questionable propriety of men, Roosevelt was driven to address how men should act the way a real mature man would in order to further improve society. By using rhetorical strategies such as repetition, Christian appeal, and a serious tone, Roosevelt is able to show his audience how strength and decency go hand in hand.
Theodore Roosevelt was thrust into the presidency after William McKinley was assassinated on 6 September 1901 while attending the Pan-America Exposition. Roosevelt assured McKinley supporters that he would adhere to his policies, as well as keep the current cabinet. Nonetheless, Roosevelt sought to position himself as the country’s undisputed leader, wanting to bolster the role of the president and ready himself for the upcoming election. Sometime later in his first term as president, Roosevelt set a lofty goal; create a canal in Panama. The series of events that followed are what gained Roosevelt some of the most criticism in his career.
In the month of April in 1906, the realization that the nation was growing faster than the government was all to real (okayfey). Monopoles were influencing Americans negatively and the federal and State powers could do nothing about it. The rich had control of almost all the wealth in the United States, and the middle class was not happy about it. They were in a cage match that was only going to end in bloodshed and an unsettled dispute. That being said, President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt was left between all of this to be the intermediary.
