Emmanuel Azeez Instructor: Laura Howard English 1101 Essay 2 September 24, 2014. 9/11 On September 11, 2001 terrorists affiliated with Al-Qaeda hijacked and crashed two American airplanes into the Twin Towers, killing thousand and injuring hundreds. This was the worst terrorist attack in American history. It showed that even the most powerful country in the world was subject to attack. This attack exposed the vulnerability of the United States as a nation.
The morning of Tuesday September 11, 2011 is one of the biggest tradgies of all time. On this specific day four airlines were hijacked by an Islamic group that goes by the name al-Qaeda. The attacks took the lives of 2,996 innocent people, injured nearly 6,000 people, and caused at least $10 billion in infracture and property damage. These attacks, also known as the 9/11 attacks, will forever be remebered as one of the most horrific days for so many people around this world. Initally, al-Qaeda considered targeting nuclear power plants on 9/11, but decided to go against it because they feared it would get too out of control.
Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes. Two of the planes (American airline flight 11 and united airlines flight 175) Crashed into the north and south towers of world trade center in New York City. One hour and 42 minutes after the crash of the planes both 110 stories towers collapsed resulting fire and the collapsing and damage to the other towers. Including the seven world trade center tower which has 47 stories. It is almost sixteen years since that fear was imposed on us and the age of terror began in earnest.
Each plane had a distinctive destination. These locations included The World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and an undisclosed location, which we will never know. The terrorist had a calculated plan and initiated an attack so horrible that three hundred and forty three firefighters and paramedics lost their lives. Twenty three New York City police officers and thirty seven Port Authority police officers were also killed. Could we have had less casualties if we, our nation, was better prepared?
Plus, since the attack the united states is too strict in order to do anything. The attack started at 8:50 am and the northern tower was struck first. But even though the southern tower was struck second it was the first to collapse. The northern tower finally collapsed 102 minutes after it was struck. The pentagon was also stuck the plane flew into it and exploded.
On Tuesday September 11 2001, there was the 9/11 attack in New York City. At 8:46 A.M , American Airlines flight 11 a Boeing 767, flew into the north tower. Then at 9:06 A.M, United Airlines flight 175, another Boeing 767, flew into the south tower. Hijackers causes the 9/11. It affected people because a lot of people died that day and some got hurt really bad.
9/11 was one of the most pivotal events in world history; this tragic event continues to be remembered as thousands of Americans lost their lives that morning. On September 11, 2001 the United States came under attack by nineteen al-Qaeda terrorists. They directed their hatred towards two of our most symbolic trademarks; the twin towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington. The serious of four attacks carried out by al-Qaeda consisted of four passenger jets being hijacked, two of them were crashed into the World Trade Center, the third hit the Pentagon, and the fourth plain was directed toward Washington but ended up crashing in a field due to a fight the passengers out up with the terrorist on board. Tragedy, and burning flames. Everybody remembers 9/11, and the day the twin towers collapsed into shreds. Bombers in hijacked planes, millions injured, and thousands dead enduringly. The beginning of the ending, 250 people on 4 hijacked planes that changed America forever. Nobody knew, it was a rude awakening.
Terrorist turn to violent means such as killing and bombing of the government. Our country was hit with enormous deviation. The act of 9/11 have changed the way how American live today and forever. Four commercial airplanes were stolen by terrorists.
INTRODUCTION 9/11 is a tragedy that most people will know. Especially the citizen of New York City, United States of America. Briefly, 9/11 is a tragedy where four planes that is believed belongs to the American Airlines crashes the World Trade Centre (WTC) tower and the pentagon. The tragedy happened 11th September 2001 in the morning. Many people believes that the party involved were the Al-Qaeda terrorist.
Not only did they lose someone they loved or almost lost their lives, this event affected them long term. Some have medical issues, mental issues, and emotional issues. The citizens of New York were affected severely by the event that happened on September 11, 2001. Out of the 2,606 people that died in the World Trade Center, 1,762 were residents of New York (Statistic Brain Research Institue). People not only died from the explosion of the airplane crashing into the twin towers, but had to make the decision to jump because there was no way out.
September 11, 2001: this date has changed America forever. How far has airport security come so it can be as safe as it can be for all boarding passengers? Shortly after the terrorist attack on the United States of America, airports were closed; airports needed to recuperate by inheriting better technology. Airports started to use better scanners called Computer Tomography Scanners. This scanner checks baggage and carry on 's for harmful items.
Disagreement over oil and politics caused tension, bubbling and waiting to burst for years. But what really set it off was the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Hatred skyrocketed, and the FBI reported a 1600% increase in hate crime against Muslims the year following 9/11. The Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee confirmed over 700 hate crimes within the 9 weeks after the tragedy. Ever since 9/11 young Muslims have grown up with discrimination.

More than 1,000 people died in New York and DC when the terrorist attacked, many of the victims were the firefighters, police, and paramedics responded to this event. There were four hijackers who were involved in this event. They flew the planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon as a part of their suicide mission. As the two planes hit the north and south tower in NY, a plane attempted to hit the Pentagon in DC, the result of the terrorists actions that day were that many families lost loved ones (9/11 Facts).
