Humans have been the dominant species for many years and over the course of history, human nature has never been fully understood due to the fact that there are major differences between how we function in the world compare to other species and we are still learning from it. Human nature is defined as the ability to think, feel, and act in this world (Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary, n.d.). Humans are selfish individuals because no matter how much they act; they want to fulfill their own interest. We blame nature for our problems because other actions, not necessarily our own, control us but in reality it is our own decisions that caused these actions. After reading “Apes in the Family” from Fran de Waal’s Our Inner Ape, humans are not meant to be selfish in nature but also possess empathy and compassion which allows us to form connections and cooperate with others.
So are humans good or bad? The Lord of the Flies shows us many examples on humans are bad. This is why I believe that humans are instinctively bad. I am not saying we are not good but when the situation is right our savage side comes out and it shows that humans are
I believe good is intrinsic, while evil is extrinsic. Intrinsic means essential. Extrinsic means not part of the essential nature of someone or something. Everyone is born with a friendly soul but they have the ability to learn to become evil. Some people in life may seem along the lines of evil since they were born.
There are two main ways in which natural evil operates to give humans those choices. First of all, natural evil provides chance for humans to learn how to bring the evil. For example, I can choose to ignore my sick friends instead of showing compassion towards the sufferer. If I get sick, I can either choose to spread it to others or subdue to disease and prevent it from spreading. Humans have the free will to choose to be good or evil.

Technically, the individuals aren’t born evil, the environment in which they grew up in made them evil. Everyone is born good and deserve natural rights. It’s the state's job to ensure that people's rights aren't infringed upon and “the state's failure to secure them gave men the right to revolution" (Granato). If people's rights are being taken away from them unlawfully they have the right to rebel or start a revolution to get those rights back or to gain more security for their rights. Citizens also have the right to replace their government if they feel that their government isn’t protecting their rights.

Firstly, man is born evil because society shows him to be evil. An example of this is how parents must raise their child to be good. A parent never has to raise their child to do bad things.
