Her work has shown that by starting off with a nursing degree and a passion, there is so much that a nurse can do to improve healthcare for women Nurses have an opportunity to work for organizations like Planned Parenthood and continue to advocate for women’s reproductive rights and care. Nurse practitioners, in particular, can perform roles such as educating women and young girls, inserting IUDs, and prescribing oral contraceptives to women. One of the greatest advantages of this aspect of the nurse practitioner role is that such services are much more affordable to those seeking care, as opposed to visiting a physician for these matters. This concludes that the work of Faye Wattleton and Planned Parenthood have made reproductive healthcare more accessible
There was limited data collection was made out. Demographic qualities of the sample, variables comprised for age, monthly family income and unemployed women. The authors should include primary and tertiary education level not merely looking at women who have finished their secondary school level. There was also no sample done for marital status, duration of residence in Hong Kong, the measure of household, work status before, then afterward delivery, kind of their job, whether staying with guardians/guardians-in-law, the number of kids, equality, and the method of conveyance. Most of the sample listed above is the contributing factors that can be perceived by the postnatal depression women.
There is a proverb that many of us are familiar with: it takes a village to raise a child; our village is missing something crucial and needs to provide medical and educational services regarding maternal and reproductive health. In British Columbia, there are health centres that fit the bill described above: Options for Sexual Health in East Hastings and Island Sexual Health Society in Victoria. Both can be inaccessible for women living in Delta; it 's too much travel time and cost, which some women ( specifically teenagers ) cannot accomodate into their lifestyles. There are four Planned Parenthood centres in New York City; four reproductive and health care centres to five boroughs, offering an array of women an incredible service with ease.
Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of reproductive health services in the United States. Counseling programs and general information about the services it will provide are readily available online and in the clinics. Services provided by the organization include: abortion referrals, birth control, general health care, men and women 's sexual healthcare, emergency contraception, pregnancy information and prenatal care, and screenings for sexually transmitted diseases. Its various counseling programs will answer questions and offer support regarding sexual health, relationships, STDs, sexual orientation, gender identity, body issues, and more (Planned Parenthood Federation of
Planned parenthood is an organization that provides healthcare to women who are under informed about their reproductive system and how it works. They also provide care to women who have unplanned pregnancies and others who want to learn more about their health and how to prevent problems. They have over 56 different locally run affiliates nationwide who operate 650 health centers(“planned parenthood”). This is extremely beneficial for people who otherwise wouldn’t have access to healthcare options. Planned Parenthood partners give educational programs to 1.5 million young people and adults every year(“planned parenthood”).
Imagine living in a world where proper sexual health care and education was unavailable. Imagine not being able to receive information about contraceptives or options for an unexpected pregnancy. Imagine the number of people with sexually transmitted diseases, exceeding the number of people who do not have them, because treatment for STD’s was unavailable. On average 2.7 million men and women visit Planned Parenthood each year, to receive health care, such as STD screening, numerous cancer screenings and various other programs that are available. Planned Parenthood among countless other HealthCare providers is one of the Nation’s leading providers of “high quality, affordable healthcare for women, men and young people, and also the largest provider of sex education”( Planned Parenthood at a glance).
Throughout the past few years, the organization Planned Parenthood has gone through an overabundance of controversy and fabrications. Planned Parenthood is one of the world’s largest healthcare providers, offering sexual education and reproductive health care to over five million women and men worldwide every year. The majority of the group’s opposition contests it for the notion that they provide unwarranted and immoral abortion procedures. However, only 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services are abortion procedures. The rest of the the organization’s amenities include STI/STD testing, cervical cancer screening, breast exams, Pap tests, and more immensely crucial healthcare facilities for the men and women of America.
“Planned Parenthood is proud of its vital role in providing young people with honest sexuality and relationship information in classrooms and online to help reduce our nation’s alarmingly high rates of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections” (“Who We Are”). It’s important to teach people of the risk of sexual activity and steps on how to keep a healthy lifestyle. Recently Planned Parenthood has helped less fortunate countries that do not have access to health and reproductive care, some of the countries being Africa and Latin America. “Planned Parenthood Federation of America is also a founding member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, based in London” (“Who We Are”). Planned Parenthood has been around for quite a long time, having many supporters and donors that provide health care around
Founded in 1916 by Margaret Sanger, the controversial federation known as Planned Parenthood continues to help millions of people internationally to resolve a variety of health problems. Because Planned Parenthood provides abortions, the government of the United States questions if it should continue to fund the clinic. However, there are several reasons, such as abortions, cancer screenings, and vaccines, that give rise to the federal subsidization of Planned Parenthood. Life does not always follows a person’s agenda, and Planned Parenthood knows that, which is the main reason it performs abortions. In 2005, a website named Guttmatcher Institute collected data concerning the women who request abortions from approximately 38 different
The lack of sexual education also contributes to young marriage and motherhood rates (Ngo & Leet-Otley, 2011). Hmong parents do not understand sexual education and do not discuss it with their children. In Meschke and Dettmer’s (2013) study on sexual health communication, Hmong daughters inferred that parents believed the talk about sexual health might encourage their daughters to be sexually active. Talking about sex is impolite and embarrassing so Hmong families do not usually have discussions on that topic. However, when they do give out information it is often wrong and exaggerated (Meschke & Dettmer, 2012).
Education at the primary level and the proper delivery of important health information. Many of teenagers now are sexually active but don’t know how to use contraceptive methods. Education is the best approach in the promotion of health in this community and provide information on resources will be helpful such as health screen and HPV vaccination at health fairs should be disclosed. There are now many low cost clinics that have bilingual speaking staff that are available and can provide assistance with any health
The study was performed on a group of nuns whom volunteered to physical and mental exams during the remaining years of life. The study proved that a healthy diet, emotions, and strokes all correlate to the amount and severity of symptoms a person will go through during their adulthood. The study did have some disadvantages, such as that the test subjects did not represent the regular population. This made the research only relevant to individuals of similar lifestyles to the nuns.
"The Nola Pender Health Promotion Model, 1996" is based on educating people on how to care for and lead a healthy life. This theory identifies in the individual cognitive-perceptual factors that are modified by the situational, personal and interpersonal characteristics, which results in the participation in behaviors conducive to health, when there is a pattern for action. She considers health as a high-level positive state, and takes it as a goal, towards which the person must strive to lead a healthy life. The objective of this model is to integrate both the nurse and the person regarding the behaviors that promote the human well-being, biological, psychological and sociocultural; It is visualized that the nursing professional should be
Teenage pregnancy is a social problem with biological and physical consequences. Sexual education is now part of the learning area ‘Life Skills” in schools, but teenagers still fall pregnant because they are not open and lack transparency when discussing sexual matters. Teenage pregnancy has always been a medical problem no matter how many young girls are educated about sexual intercourse, condoms, contraceptives and HIV/AIDS. 1.2 Problem Statement
