The rising obesity epidemic: The rising obesity epidemic is a serious public health concern that requires urgent attention, as it is linked to numerous health problems and poses significant economic costs. Obesity is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, and it affects millions of people worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the prevalence of obesity has more than doubled since 1980, and in 2016, 39% of adults aged 18 years and over were overweight, and 13% were obese.
