1.1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Online Voting System is a fully web based voting software solution. Using the decade old election system to collect votes from the citizens is no longer considered efficient due to the various recurring errors. So time has arrived that the paper based primordial voting system which has already proven itself an inefficient and slow procedure is changed immediately. The system that is being followed currently, from data collection procedure to counting of the votes is a manual process. Here we are proposing an automated electronic voting system. After the election it produces a tabulation of the voting data stored in a removable memory component and as printed copy. The system may also provide a means for transmitting individual Online Voting System or vote totals to a central location for consolidating and reporting results from precincts at the central location. These systems use a precinct count method that tabulates Online Voting System at the polling place. They typically tabulate Online Voting System as they are cast and print the results after the close of polling. Public network DRE voting system
A public network DRE voting system is an election system that uses electronic Online Voting System and transmits vote data from the polling place to another location over a public network. Vote data may be transmitted as individual Online Voting System as they are cast, periodically as batches of Online Voting System throughout the Election Day, or as one batch at the close of voting. This includes Internet voting as well as telephone voting.

Existing System
 The existing system of voting process is totally paper based and time taking process.
 This process country expenses lot of money in election time. Which is on manpower, paper, vehicle, BSF force etc.
 In the existing process for voting is very lengthy process for vote. The candidate stand in the queue on morning and wait for his/her number its very tired process and time consuming process.
 In this process some time may be gathering occurred and lot of people are injured during election.
 100 percent accuracy is very difficult in this process. It taken lot of time in counting of vote.
 Even if he is registered voter of his new locality it is often seen that he is still existing voter of his old area. Thereby he can vote twice which is illegal.
 Again these votes are counted manually so the process becomes a gradual one which may be inaccurate as well. All these problems together made people think about inventing a new system that will reduce corruption, increase accuracy and fast election. The concept of electronic voting system comes from this necessity.
