Kania Rimu is a goal-setter but more importantly, a go-getter. I met Kania in 2012 while she was in the 9th grade and, she was a very shy and unassuming young lady, very much someone who would blend into the background. In 2015, she is not that girl. Kimorah is a second-grade general education student from a school in the St. George area of Staten Island, New York. Upon having Kimorah assigned as my student and before meeting her, I learned that through prior assessments it is established that she is on a C reading level, and in the second grade. When I think of second graders, I think of babies that were just born into this world a couple years ago, but among meeting Kimorah I quickly realized that she is a person in every sense of the word. Kimorah is a 7-year-old extroverted girl, who is expressive and full of personality. Consequently, shyness does not affect her, but to break the ice further I decided to conduct a set of fun activities.

This past Sunday, June 18th, America lost muslim teen, Nabra Hassanen to what most call road rage, and others, a hate crime. It was then that they encountered driver Darwin Martinez Torres and an argument erupted. The altercation escalated, resulting in the capturing and death of 17 year old Hassanen. Torres had beaten her with a baseball bat, abducted her, and dumped her body into a lake.
Kehinde Wiley is an American artist, known for his paintings whose subjects are usually African-American men portrayed in heroic poses. Wiley was born in 1977 in Los Angeles, California. He began to train in art schools at a young age with the encouragement and support of his mother. In 1999, he received his BFA from the San Francisco Institute of Art, and by 2001, Kehinde had received his MFA from Yale University. After his major schooling, Kehinde moved to Harlem to work at the Studio Museum.

Strenght is a word that has many meanings and can be found in many ways. La Bamba, California is very small town with a population that is just under two hundred people. In this small town, there was an auto repair shop, a bakery, a butcher, a grocery store, and a gas station. Other than the houses where the people lived, this was all that La Bamba consisted of. La Bamba was dependant on the crops of the local farmers to feed everybody. The farmers would haul in large amounts of different crops that would then be used to make the food that the people eat on a daily basis.
