Personal Narrative by Kyle The reason i was named Kyle Hutton because Hutton is a Irish name. I was named Kyle because Kyle is also a Irish name. My family is somewhat Irish on both sides of the Family. That is why my name was Kyle.
I’ve always wondered why people with a little or a lot of power tend to treat you unjustly. I’ve experienced many times when people with power treated me poorly. There were times in school with teachers, in school with principles and even out in public places. When I experienced these moments they made me feel like there were something wrong with me or I was different. Also, it made me feel like I was different from others… but not in a good way.
This psychological assignment requires us to break a social norm. In my case, I decided to break an appearance social norm. I thought in something weird, but at the same time really funny. Therefore, I entered to my little walking closet and I took the most brilliant and extravagant high heels shoes that I found to wear them at a place when people usually used flip flops.
I, Dan McWilliams, woke up at 5:45 to go to work for the FDNY. It was sunny day with clear skies, little did I know the horrors of the day to come. I got to work at 6:45, we were at the station for about 2 hours. Next thing we know every fire station in New York is being called to the twin towers because of an apparent plane crash. It was 8:46 the first plane hit the North Tower, when we arrived it was chaos.
Clouds began to roll into the small town of Springvale around mid-morning, and the rain followed shortly after. It was easy going at first, but quickly became torrential. The brightness of the morning was consumed by the ravenous appetite of the clouds, turning day to night. This kind of weather was not uncommon for the coastal town during the summer months. Many of the citizens of Springvale relished the constant rain.
My body cried like a newborn babe, afraid in an unfamiliar place. Immediately, my fresh eyes were greeted by waves of black hair, friendly smiles, and the Japanese language. I had arrived in Japan. I did not know the language or the customs, but I dove right into the dark pool. I was determined not to let the unknown drown me.

In “How to Handle a Bully,” by Kathiann Kowalski, an experienced journalist, Kowalski reports the different strategies to stop bullying. She informs that bullying is at its peak in the late teenage years, but can start in an early age. Kowalski concurs that girls intimidates as much as boys; however, they do it differently. She explores many reasons why bullying occurs at the first place, and who starts bullying. Kowalski exemplifies the situations that victims could be in, and the solution on how to handle the bully.
Albert Einstein once said, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” Although I was not born with the best bike, I have learned to pedal through all the hardships—and that has made all the differences. As a young child, I was shy and timid; however, participating in my high school Cross Country team for four years helped me come out of my shell and become more open and social.
Ryan Smith 10/12/15 Memoir Since one of my biggest fears is of sharks you could only imagine descending into an ice cold tank with a dozen of them. I only had a wet suit and a oxygen tank only to come face to face with several of those things. There were only 2 guides, and 1 other person trying to get over their fear of sharks, like me.
In my brief life, I have overcome a lot of adversity. My mom fled Mexico with her three young children to escape domestic violence. When we came to this country we had only a few personal belongings and the promise of a better future. We came to this country and lived in a small trailer with no toilet other than a bucket, and no shower except for the one that was lent to us from the kindness of a stranger, our new neighbor. As a single parent, my mother had to work day and night to support us.
Instead of hating bugs or spiders, I hated the outside as a child. Preferring to stay indoors, I spent my hours reading and drawing, dreading the moments my parents dragged me to a field to force sports down my throat. Basketball, soccer, volleyball; I tried all and loathed indiscriminately. Unfortunately, my father loved the outdoors, saving money for exotic vacations such as driving to the tip of Mexico instead of buying the latest iphone. Forced to go along with the rest of the family, I despised every minute of it.
My Memoir Why are there no lines? Why are there no goals? Why were the benches not moved? Just some of the things that went wrong on 9/12/15. That is the day my soccer team won 8-0 at our first home soccer game. The tensions were high and we were stressed no lines or goals.
In the spring of 2014 the tenth grade class of Small-Town Rose Valley, Saskatchewan was presented with the opportunity to travel to Hamilton, Ontario - something few of us had ever had the chance of doing. Getting accepted into The Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada, SEVEC for short, meant that we would be participating in a student exchange program and jaunting to visit and experience the lives of people in Hamilton, and that people from Hamilton would get to do the same in Saskatchewan. Our first day in Hamilton was overwhelming regarding the size of the city, however it was a lot of fun. We travelled to see Niagara Falls, which is arguably one of the top tourist attractions in Canada. Dubbed “The Honeymoon Capital of the World”, I can see how a place like The Falls would be a popular place to visit for newlyweds considering the beauty and prosperity of the place.
I have always strived for more ever since I was a child. My mother dropped me off on a doorstep at the age of eighteen months. I grew up with this woman who was less than nice. A lot would go on within the household and I would always think to my self that I would not be like them when I grow up. We moved around a lot, resulting in me having to go to multiple schools.
