I’ve completed my move to Houston. I traded in my Maryland license for a Texas one. With that said, I’ve found a new church home. I joined Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church on January 13th. The church is very similar to STCF.

Life can be boring, especially when you might have lived in a certain place for so long. However, to have a place to call home is the most comfort feeling anyone can have, even if they have been moving their whole lives. But home, does not always mean a physical place, but the bond shared with people in that place. In Scott Russell Sanders essay, Homeplace, he expresses how people staying is good because one can truly respect or feel blessed of what they have received than to throw away the effort that once existed. Yet, Richard Ford’s
My move from my home state of Maryland to Georgia has greatly influenced my goals and perspectives. When I lived in the city area of Maryland, I had a limited viewpoint of life as a person who knew only of the city and had relaxed belief of living only within my comfort zone of what a city had to offer, however that changed when I moved to Georgia. Georgia proved itself to be a very different experience for me. Georgia is a lot bigger than Maryland so there was more place for its cities to be more spread apart and the environment had a more forestry background than what I knew at the young age. The change of setting and accustoms associated from the very different places made me realize that depending on a person’s position one object can be
The move back to Maryland was one of the biggest challenges in my life, everything was okay in Ohio until my step dad caused problems with me and my mom. It all started when my mom tried kicking my step dad out of the house for domestic violence. She kicked him out because not only has he fought with my mom, but he and I have fought a few times. Everything seemed fine at first until he kept bringing police officers to our house claiming almost all of our household items were his and he wanted to get them back. Of course the officers eventually weren’t allowing him to keep coming back to bug us about it and told him to go to the court and take the problem to a civil court judge.

Tears of joy and sorrow were expressed throughout the arena as our opposing enemies were receiving the Ontario AA Ringette Championship gold medals. Our game faces and silver medals were still being worn as we were off to get revenge at the Eastern Canadian Championships. I had butterflies in my stomach moments before I was able to settle in before we took off. When I stepped out of the hot, stuffy plane into the cold windy night, I felt nervous and excited. Adrenaline was kicking in and I was ready to tie up my skates and get on the ice.
Through colonization, a school system was created that many can’t simply leave behind. Marino utilized the statements from individuals in interviews that she conducted to demonstrate the risks they felt were involved with moving. Though little has been done yet because of financial and flexibility issues the author was able to capture the emotional response of residents which translated to fear and
5 years ago, one fresh midnight, arrived to a new place in Atlanta Georgia that our life forever changed. There were plenty of cars, trees, and building. It is fairly cold and the wind is blowing like the tree arms dance. Many lights that can be seen shine through the windows of buildings at night time. It quiet outside.
When I was 14 I had to move to San Clemente, California. I had already recently moved temporarily to Texas while a house was made ready for us on the military base. “The house is ready!” my mother had said excitedly, after being on the phone for a few minutes. “It’s time to go back?”
I lived in Philadelphia, PA and then moved to Millville, NJ. After living in a big city for five years, moving to a small town can be quite a transition. The quick pace of the city was what I have been accustomed to. I have lived in Millville for over a year now, and I still haven’t settled into the slower, small town lifestyle. (THESIS) Philadelphia's community, the convenience of transportation, and diverse culture is contrasting to Millville's way of living.
