The complex character seems like just an extreme hunter but figure out a horrifying fact, that he clearly is proud of, and doesn’t regret pursuing. General zaroff redefines hunting when he restocks his island with a new type of life.
In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, General Zaroff is shown as violent, crazy, and overconfident. Zaroff is shown to be violent in the story when he talks about how much he likes to kill things. “‘Simply this: hunting had ceased to be what you call ‘a sporting proposition.’” (Connell 69). This quote shows that Zaroff is violent because during this part, he is talking about how he was getting tired of how easy it was to kill everything.
The Most Dangerous Game In the story, “The Most Dangerous Game” two characters, Rainsford and General Zaroff Somehow meet after Rainsford falls off of his yacht and after these two characters meet General Zaroff explains how he plays a game of hunting humans and somehow forces Rainsford to a piece in this particular game. In Richard Connell’s Fictional story, The Most Dangerous game He Demonstrates two characters where one in particular is faced with a difficult task and is able to overcome it and through these events both characters revealed traits in which showed who their true characters were. Both Characters, General Zaroff and Rainsford revealed different character traits through events in the story as it progressed. General Zaroff proved himself to be a clever, smart, skilled, evil person while, Rainsford expressed himself to be intelligent and smart-minded when it came to his encounters with Zaroff. Many events in the story allowed the main characters to show their true attributes.
Firstly, in the story The Most Dangerous Game, Rainsford is justified in killing General Zaroff because on the island the only way to live is if the stranded people hunt or the stranded will in contrast become the ones being hunted. In the beginning of the story Rainsford is talking to Whitney about jaguars. Whitney is stating that the jaguars must feel some sort of feeling like fear or terror but in contrast Rainsford states that the jaguars have no understanding of feelings. Then Rainsford is put on a island where he symbolically represents the jaguar and General Zaroff would symbolically represent the hunter.
General Zaroff is a great hunter but gets got bored of hunting the same animals, so he decidesd to hunt people. General Zaroff startsed to have fun and keepsed luring people in with tricks. General Zaroff demonstrates that he is honest, dangerous, and arrogant.
Comparing and Contrasting: ‘The Most Dangerous Game’ The short story and film version of The Most Dangerous Game contain both similarities and differences. There are always going to be changes form book to movie no matter what. The plot of both of these is the same though; A man is lost on an island and meets General Zaroff. The man is very fortunate at the time because General Zaroff is welcoming.

I have read the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell. In this story, Rainsford, a faimed author and hunter, falls off his ship and winds up on an island where he meets a man. This man turns out to be a former Russian General, General Zarroff. General Zarroff , it just so happens, is a hunter in his own but of a different nature. To escape the island he must outwit his host in the General’s own game of hunting.
The Most Dangerous Game Throughout the globe, people cherish hunting. It can be challenging, but still a great way of entertainment. Morally, hunting animals is okay or adequate, because it stays within reason. However, in “The Most Dangerous Game”, General Zaroff is convinced that killing humans for sport is acceptable. Rainsford did not like Zaroff, the war general, one bit as a human being.(appositive) Rainsford thought what Zaroff was doing is cold-blooded murder.
